As the owner of a champion show dog (now retired from the ring), I have some experience with the subset of humanity most famously depicted in the movie Best in Show. I thought I'd seen it all until this past week when I became aware of a new and even odder set of pooch enthusiasts--those who transform their poodles into kitschy works of trompe l'oeil, a.k.a. "Extreme Poodles".
