The Peto/Rebick/Klein Question
In his novel The Finkler Question, this year's Man-Booker prize-winner, Jewish-British writer Howard Jacobson, a man with impeccable leftist credentials, pillories the current crop of Israel-loathing, Palestine-adoring, self-righteous lefty Jews. He creates an organization--ASHamed Jews, a sort of fictional Not In Our Name--that is as awful as it is darkly hilarious, and populates it with a bunch of really smart Jews--intellectuals--who sound a lot like Jenny Peto, Judy Rebick, Naomi Klein and other Jews of that ilk. On the off-chance that these folks are open to catching a glimpse of themselves in the mirror (admittedly, a fairly remote prospect), I would highly recommend the novel to them all.
