'Diversity' in the Tariq Ramadan Sense

As Frank Furendi writes, it's a kind of "diversity" that brooks no dissent--call it sharia-style diversity:
Outwardly, Ramadan upholds the ideal of open-mindedness. But it’s an open-mindedness that avoids critical thinking and making judgments. His call for embracing multiplicity and diversity is about avoiding the challenge of intellectual clarification and moral judgment. Yet his celebration of diversity is deceptive, too, because his cheering of difference is actually oriented only towards those whose views echo his own. His acceptance of ‘all outlooks’ certainly does not extend to classical liberal thought; indeed, it’s worth noting that the only strong argument consistently pursued through his book is a critique of the liberal virtue of tolerance.
It's the type of echo chamber "diversity"--or pseudo-diversity--that works for the "progressive" crowd, too.

Update: Meanwhile, an Official Jew and die-hard "progressive" is still engaged in the modern day equivalent of snark hunting--searching for the ever-elusive line between free speech and hate speech. (Elusive because it does not in fact exist; the search itself puts free speech, the linchpin of a free society, in grave peril--something the gentleman still, alas, does not fully capiche.)

  1. Bubble Boy, vain and effete, just loves seeing his name in the newspaper doesn't he?
    (such an attention whore.)

"I have been involved for years in trying to find that vital line between free speech and hate speech."

To paraphrase Einstein, repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result, is the surest sign of insanity.

(And let's not forget, the vileness of HIS words "extremist right wing bloggers" to reference ANYONE who disagreed with his point of view.)

"Let us try to leave our funny bone a bit more exposed while simultaneously recognizing that vile words can cause hurt and harm. Yes, a tall order but one worth striving for."

Well Bubble Boy, just who is going to be the arbitrator of what constituents a "vile" word?

Personally, I am much more offended by your "vile" hypocrisy of claiming to promote BASIC RIGHTS, (which is first and foremost, FREE SPEECH), and then having the audacity and mealy mouthiness to bullshit your way around them under the fake guise of (cough) "human rights".

Let's not forget that 100 years ago Eugenics was adopted by Europe's intellectual elite as the appropriate logical solution to society's problems. We all know how that ended up, even though it was NOT directed at the Jewish population until 25 years after it was introduced as a matter of "legitimate" consideration.

Not much different 100 years later with the Ceej peddling the clap-trap Junk Science of of "Social Engineering" and being such vocal promoters of the misery-monger business that IS the "human rights" industry.

Really, Bubble Boy should just just go fuck-himself along with his phony sanctimonious sensibilities.

Without a doubt, his arrogance and stupidity IS A BIG PART of the current problem.
