CIC Conflates Mosque, State

We may be the most multi-freakin'-cultural country on the planet, but last time I checked we still at least paid lip service to the concept of the separation of church (or mosque) and state. That's not how the Canadian Islamic Congress sees it, however. A piece in its Friday Magazine urges, nay, commands the faithful to get out and vote, not only because it is their duty to do so as good citizens, but because it is their obligation to do so as good Muslims. To not vote, so they are told, "serves to conceal one’s obligatory witness, which is a grave sin in Islam."

Oh, my. Vote to avoid sinfulness? Vote so you don't roil in etermal hellfire? Well, that's one way to get 'em to the polls.
