Friedman At a Loss Re Egypt's Morsi

For the life of him, Thomas L. Friedman cannot figure out why the democratically-elected president of Egypt would head off to Tehran there to consort with the Ayatollah. After all, Morsi is the product of the "Arab Spring" while the Ayatollah is the chap who put a lid on Iran's "Green Revolution." What could these two possibly have in common? (BTW, I read the TLF piece in the paper version of the National Post, begging the question: What the heck is it doing there?)

Where Tom goes wrong, of course, is in assuming that the Muslim Brotherhood dude is likely to be any better than the Ayatollah when, in fact, more unites than divides them.
