"I Say a Little Prayer" Helps See Me Through a Dark Time

Still feeling battered and raw following the shocking sudden death of a good friend, I turned this morning to steynonline, looking for a chuckle or two cheer me up. Steyn's enjoyable send off to Hal David, who died aged 92 (my friend, alas, did not get the chance to achieve that vast old age), was just what the grief counselor ordered (had I a grief counselor, that is). Then, too, I was reminded of a scene I've always liked in My Best Friend's Wedding, the one where the wedding party, at a pre-nuptials lobster repast, bursts out into the Bacharach-David hit "I Say a Little Prayer"--call it spontaneous Warwick syndrome.
