Chuck Hagel and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Did you see Rhymes-With-Bagel's confirmation hearing? Not only was it abysmal, as he consistently hemmed and hawed and tripped over his incredibly thick tongue, but one could not help but be shocked that, out of the deep pool of candidates on whom Obama could draw, this dull tack/dim bulb/elevator-doesn't-quite-go-all-the-way-to-the-penthouse doofus is the man he thinks best equipped to steer the Pentagon at this most parlous of times.

Or was that the whole point--that Hagel's lack of smarts means that Obama will really be calling all the shots (pun intended) or lack thereof?

Bei Meir Bist Du Shlecht*

I've conflated two news stories--the death of Patty, she of Andrews Sisters fame, and Russia's Vladimir Putin joining Iran's Khomeinists and their flying monkeys, Hezbo, in condemning Israel's Syria strike:

My dear Mr. P.
It's easy to see,
My dear Mr. P.
You're such a swine.

It's wretched, mais oui,
To tack Khomeini.
Though Hezbo agrees
That you're in line.

I could say "Stalin, Stalin,"
Even say "Lenin," too.
Each moniker reminds us
Of strong-armed leaders--like you!

Re your history
Of ignominy
You'll never be free,
Don't even try...
* Yiddish for "bad".

United Church's Emmanuel College Set to Churn Out Muslim Chaplains

Given the potential for radicalization among such captive audiences, shouldn't this raise at least a few alarm bells?
If all goes according to plan, Emmanuel should be churning out Muslim chaplains in a few short years. The college has already hired a distinguished visiting professor of Muslim studies on a three-year contract, and this fall, Toulouse will propose a master of pastoral studies track for Muslims who want to work as chaplains. A new multifaith council currently in the works will certify the graduates to work in hospitals, prisons, universities and the Canadian Forces.
BTW, Muslim chaplain Imam Yasin Dwyer, who spoke at U of T's Muslim Student Association, a Muslim Brotherhood offshoot, is a big fan of Black Muslim Malcolm X. Gee, I wonder how he feels about the movement's current head, egregious Jew-hater lippy Louie Farrakhan.

RCMP to Train Saudi Police? What a Cockamamie Idea!

Why would a symbol of Canada, a democracy with Western traditions of freedom and rule of law, involve itself with a totalitarian theocracy which practices Draconian sharia? What a great way to sully the Dudley Do-Righters and validate the wily Wahhabis and their revolting M.O.

Horrible Hagel Hagiography

"Can Hagel Overcome?" asks a TIME magazine scribbler, thereby making a former Republican senator who is notable solely for the positive things he has to say about Iran and his negative statements about Israel (the reason Obama chose him, no?), sound like some latter day Martin Luther King.

Can Rhymes-With-Bagel overcome--what? Objections to his objectionable views? Opposition to his anti-Israel opposition?

What a disgusting insult to America's civil rights movement that did overcome, and to the Jewish State, which will never overcome the Hagels of the world.

Update: Hagel--a man who will say anything to get a cushy cabinet gig.

Canada's Museum of Competitive Victimhood Plans to Keep It Simple So Everyone Can Comprehend Its Message

And the message is Victims R Us:
Museum officials showcased highlights of the accessible design to reporters on Tuesday.
"I'm really excited what's happening with the human rights museum," said Valerie Wolbert, a Winnipeg disability rights activist who was consulted by the museum.
Wolbert recommended that exhibits use language that is easy for everyone, including those with cognitive impairments, to understand.
"For me, as a person with an intellectual disability, I feel it would be great for having the plain language for everybody," she said.
Don't you dare go call it "dumbing it down," for that would be mean and discriminatory. No worries there, though. It's a well known fact that indoctrination is best achieved via easy-to-understand slogans and sound bites (eg. "four legs good, two legs bad," and "Yes We Can").

Germany Says Willkommen to MuBro Mo Morsi

You might think that, given his profound animus toward Jewry, Egypt's Mo Morsi would get less than a rousing welcome in Germany, a country which has made Holocaust denial illegal. Not so. In fact, Mo's being welcomed with open arms:
In light of the wave of violence sweeping the country, Mr. Morsi cut his visit to Germany from two days to just a few hours. He will be greeted by Chancellor Angela Merkel upon his arrival in Berlin with military honors before the two retire to the chancellery for talks and to hold a news conference.
Mr. Morsi will also meet Economy Minister Philipp Rösler for talks that will focus on bilateral economic relations and the creation of a joint economic committee. According to a statement by Mr. Rösler, the Egyptian president will be traveling with a number of his cabinet ministers and a delegation of more than 100 Egyptian business leaders. They will engage in discussion with some 160 German business leaders and industry lobbyists at the founding session of the committee on Tuesday...
Memo to German business leaders: G'head. Invest good money in a Mo-led Egypt. If you're looking to lose your shirts, that is.

Update: In light of Morsi's visit, the following seems more than a little ironic/hypocritical:
BERLIN (AP) — On the 80th anniversary of Adolf Hitler's rise to power, Chancellor Angela Merkel urged Germans to always fight for their principles and not fall into the complacency that enabled the Nazi dictator to seize control.
Speaking Wednesday at the opening of a new exhibit at the Topography of Terror memorial documenting Hitler's election, Merkel noted that German academics and students at the time happily joined the Nazis only a few months later in burning books deemed subversive.
"The rise of the Nazis was made possible because the elite of German society worked with them, but also, above all else, because most in Germany at least tolerated this rise," Merkel said.
After winning about a third of the vote in Germany's 1932 election, Hitler convinced ailing President Paul von Hindenburg to appoint him chancellor on Jan. 30, 1933 — setting Germany on a course to war and genocide.
"This path ended in Auschwitz," said Andreas Nachama, the director of the Topography of Terror...
And Morsi's path--does it end in anything significantly different?

Kathleen Wynne, the Mosqueteria Candidate

Tarek Fatah reveals how Ontario's premier-elect (elected by handful of hacks and activists) reached out to a very special segment of society:
As Ontario Liberals converged on Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens to elect their new leader, Kathleen Wynne’s team sent out a mass e-mail to delegates seeking their support. Nothing extraordinary, except this message was filtered so it would not reach all delegates, only the roughly 100 Muslims among them.
Here is part of that message:
“Dear Muslim Delegates, Assalamu Alaikum:
“We appeal to you all to join us in supporting Kathleen Wynne to become the leader of OLP and thus next premier of Ontario … She had openly defended Muslims’ religious rights for Friday prayers in Valley Park Middle School in her riding.” The bulk e-mail was followed by a direct letter from Wynne to Muslim delegates touting her credentials, specifically noting her support for “the Muslim prayer issue at Valley Park Middle School.” The fact many Liberal Muslims had vociferously opposed the mosque-in-school initiative was lost on Wynne.
This was actually a case of a Liberal candidate choosing to abandon Liberal Muslims in a bid for Muslim support.
The e-mail touting Wynne as a good-for-Muslims-candidate was signed, among others, by Abdulhuq Ingar, the man behind the establishment of the Mosque in Valley Park Middle School.
Assalumu Alaikum to you, Ms. Wynne. And how odd of you, a feminist and a lesbian, to try to appeal to those who practice gender segregation. (I hear that at the Valley Park mosqueteria, chicks are barricaded behind the guys, chicks on the rag sit at the very back, and lesbians aren't allowed into the room. ;) )

I don't see any lesbians--or feminists. Do you?

It's Official! Most NYC Occupests Were Part of the 1% They Despised

Just goes to show where masochism, guilt and directionless righteous indignation can lead:
According to a new study from sociologists at the City University of New York, more than a third of activists in the Occupy movement in New York City had household incomes above $100,000, placing them at the cusp of the top quintile of income distribution in America.
Researchers surveyed 729 people who participated in a May 1 rally last year and were involved in the “occupation” of Zuccotti Park in the fall of 2011, and found that they were more affluent, whiter, younger, much more highly educated, and more likely to be male than the average New Yorker.
Non-Hispanic whites constituted 62 percent of all respondents, though they make up only 33 percent of New York City residents. While only about a third of Americans hold bachelors’ degrees, 76 percent of respondents who had completed their education had a four-year college degree and 39 percent had graduate degrees. Among college graduates, more than a quarter went to top-ranked schools, which might help explain why the majority of graduates under 30 had some student debt.
Debt they likely can't pay off because, having studied, say, "human rights" or "anti-colonialism," they are unemployable.

Zion-Loathing Amnesty International's Unintentional Hilarity

Re Israel's no-show at its annual ritual humiliation at the hands of the UN's dreadful "human rights" body, AI had this to say:
If the Israeli government is not careful, it will ruin an important global human rights process for everybody.
Oh, no. How dare the Jooos do that!

Here's Contentions' Seth Mandel:
Yes, you read that right. The Israel-obsessed behavior of a corrupt UN body that exists solely to scapegoat the Jewish state while having counted as members Qatar, China, Russia, Libya, and Cuba is not ruining an important human rights process. What is ruining the process is Israel’s unwillingness to participate in its own rigged show trial.
Funny (peculiar, not ha ha) how far too many "human rights" bodies, both international and domestic ones, have morphed into panels of punitive marsupials.

The Realm of Closed Minds (and Cracked Eggs)

In a real corker of a column, Barbara Kay takes aim at campus social mushtice as practiced by aging Carleton University "human rights" student Winston Arun Smith and his ilk:
Academia has been the intellectual equivalent of a closed union shop for decades, from which only the most critically independent minds emerge unscathed. The rest, the uncritically receptive — the Arun Smiths — are steeped in opiates provided by such radical left-wing gurus as Antonio Gramsci, Paulo Freire, Frantz Fanon and Herbert Marcuse. All were Marxists; all believed westerners are the fountainhead of wickedness. And all believed that the omelet of “social justice” justified the breaking of many classically liberal eggs.
No wonder I feel like a frittata!

FYI, here's a peek at Carleton's undergrad "human rights" program, which sounds mighty grim indeed.

Update: This is the sort of thing Barbara is talking about:

Here we see victimhood as a sacralized condition, SAIA Zion-loather TBA.

Ex-Big Time Jew Tweets about Israeli "Racism"

Apparently, leftists think it's "racist" for peanut-sized Israel to balk at being forced by the UN--the UN!--to grant citizenship to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants from Sudan and Eritrea. As if Israel were as gibungous as, say, Canada.

Israel Sends a Powerful Message to the UN's Heinous "Human Rights" Racket

And the message is: stick it in yer ear, Zion-loathers:
Israel is a no-show as the top U.N. human rights body reviews its record — the first time that a nation has done that without giving a reason.
At its meeting Tuesday in Geneva, the U.N. Human Rights Council waited for Israel to appear for its once-every-four-years rights review, then determined it had not.
Council spokesman Rolando Gomez told The Associated Press "we're in new territory here" with the unprecedented absence without a reason — once before Haiti didn't appear, but it gave a reason.
U.S. diplomats have said the council is too focused on Israel, though all U.N. member nations are required to submit to such a review.
Israel said last year it would stop cooperating with the council because of an international fact-finding mission into Israeli settlements.
All I can say re the non-cooperation: It's about freaking time!

The Creepy Cult of Dr. Oz

He can scare the crap out of you--and he isn't a wizard:
Oz has become used to crowds, to adulation, and to fame. That morning, when he arrived in darkness, hundreds of people, mostly women, already stood in line at the entrance to the hospital; many lacked insurance, a doctor, or medical support of any kind. There were screams of delight when he hopped out of the car. People had come for the free exam and for helpful advice, but also to see him. Oz is fifty-two and jauntily fit, with a perfectly tamed helmet of brown hair and lengthy sideburns. His scrubs, powder blue and cinched at the waist, fit so well they looked as if they had been run up for him on Saville Row. In promotional pictures, Oz, with a stethoscope draped like a scarf around his neck, looks eerily like Doug Ross, the character that George Clooney made famous on “E.R.” He worked the line like a gifted politician, hugging people as they flipped open their phones and tried to get a picture with him. Many had brought old copies of magazines to be signed: Time, Good Housekeeping, Prevention—all with Oz on the cover. “I worship you, Dr. Oz,” one woman told him. Another threw her arms around his neck. “I haven’t seen a doctor in eight years,” she said. “I’m scared. You are the only one I trust.”
My advice: get a check up, honey. And turn off your TV a.s.a.p.

The Latest Hatred

As Zionhass, the latest manifestation of an age-old hatred, festers in the U.K., David Pryce-Jones has the temerity to identify and condemn it:
Gerald Scarfe is the main cartoonist of the Sunday Times of London, and that newspaper sells over a million copies and is addressed to educated people. The latest cartoon is a caricature of Benjamin Netanyahu, looking murderous, holding a bloody trowel with which he is building a wall. The body parts and tortured faces of Palestinian men and women are depicted in this wall. The caption reads, “Israeli elections. Will Cementing Peace Continue?”
A Liberal Democrat member of parliament by the name of David Ward coincidentally issues a statement accusing Jews “within a few years of liberation from the death camps” of “inflicting atrocities on Palestinians in the new state of Israel and continue to do so on a daily basis in the West Bank and Gaza.”
The Sunday Times and the Liberal Democrat party aren’t sets of mindless street brawlers like the pre-war British fascists but defining components of the Establishment. For years, the media have been misrepresenting the Palestinians as blameless underdogs who want nothing but peace and never do anything that might drive Jews to defend themselves. Scarfe and Ward evidently believe that their demonization of Jews is neither shocking nor repulsive but a rightful and heart-felt expression of public opinion. So liberals and leftists easily finish up as storm-troopers after all.

Tin-Eared Shakespearean Comedy Serves Khomeinist Agenda

Found this, an unintentionally amusing piece of invective by some nutty professor named Rodney Shakespeare, on the Grandiose Ayatollah's Press TV site:
The USA is a fascist beast. Yes, the country which likes to lecture everybody about liberty, democracy and human rights has become viciously totalitarian.

Every sane person knows this is true about the USA at home. The government spies on everyone; people are beaten up; in the airports people are sexually humiliated to get them used to being controlled; the mainstream television channels spew lies; thousands of drones will soon be in the skies (and who would be so foolish as to claim that they will not be armed?); and the Homeland Security Agency has bought 1.4 billion dum-dum (expanding) bullets, that’s four for every man, woman and child. The controversy over gun control is really an early manifestation of America’s coming civil war.

Abroad, there are aggressive military operations. The latest expansion is into thirty or more countries in Africa and that’s on top of the increasingly aggressive attitude taken towards China which America now openly views as an enemy. Furthermore, as everybody knows, American foreign policy is controlled by Zionism which means attacks on Islamic countries, particularly on the way to trying to achieve regime change in Iran.

Yes, you might say confidently, but the USA truly is the upholder of democracy, is it not? Hilary Clinton says so.

It must be, you continue to say but not quite so confidently, or it would be the greatest liar the world has ever known, and that includes the infamous propagandist Joseph Goebbels (one of Hitler’s sidekicks)...
Um, since the folks you're serving are every bit as bent on ridding the planet of Jewry as Hitler and his sidekicks were, you might want to give that Goebbels reference a rethink, professor.

Da'wa In Canucki Prisons--Talk About Preaching to Yer Captive Audience!

Local Islamic rag igra.ca covers a recent event highlighting a successful initiative:
Have you ever wondered what goes on in prisons? Have you wondered who are the men and women that are incarcerated? Who are chaplains and volunteers who spend endless hours helping those who have lost their voices?
These questions were addressed at a chaplaincy awareness forum and dinner held on Saturday evening at the Islamic Institute of Toronto in Scarborough.
A chaplain provides religious and spiritual care to inmates in federal and provincial prisons and they play a key role in the rehabilitation of offenders.
“The challenge of all faith communities is to run chaplaincy services given the cuts in government funding,” said Imam Abdul Hai Patel, President of the Ontario Multifaith Council and the Canadian Council of Imam’s Interfaith Relations Director, in his welcoming remarks.
The evening’s program was held to offer support for the growing number of chaplaincy services such as those offered by the Ottawa-based Islam Care Centre which has been at the forefront of supporting chaplains in Ontario prisons.
The Centre provides two permanent Muslim Chaplains to all the federal penitentiaries in Ontario.
Working in partnership with Correctional Service Canada and the Ontario Multifaith Council, the Centre has fostered an environment that allows for prisoners to develop themselves while serving their sentences and then to reintegrate back into their community.
Most commendable. But there's another reason why the Centre is so keen to get to prisoners. It's explained on its site:
ICC has regular volunteers who take their time to visit Inmates in Ottawa and provide spiritual and emotional assistance. By the grace of Allah many inmates have become Muslims, spending their time in prison in a productive peaceful manner.
So nice of Correctional Service Canada and the Ontario Multifaith Council to help foster and further prison da'wa, no?

When Seeking To Do "Good" Is Evil

Thought I'd share this, part of John Grey's review in the TLS of THE DEVIL IN HISTORY: Communism, Fascism, and some lessons of the twentieth century, by Vladimir Tismaneau:
Tismanseau's account of Communist totalitarianism will be resisted by those who want to believe that it was an essentially humanistic project derailed by events - national backwardness, foreign encirclement and the like. But as he points out, the Soviet state was founded on policies which implied that some human beings were not fully human. Lenin may have held to a verson of humanism, but it was one that excluded much of actually existing humankind. It was not simply because they could be expected to be hostile to the new regime that priests, merchants, members of formerly privileged classes and functionaries of the old order were deprived of civil rights. They represented a kind of humanity that had had its day. There is nothing to suggest that the Bolsheviks viewed the fate of former persons as the tragic price of revolution. Such superfluous human beings were no more that the detritus of history. If radical evil consists in denying the protection of morality to sections of humankind, the regime founded by Lenin undoubtedly qualifies.
We are left with the question why so many liberals disregard these facts. Clearly a part of the explanation lies in the utopian character of the Communist project. In politics, the other face of radical evil is an inhuman vision of radical goodness...
Bingo!

The Problem of Holocaust Remembrance in Britain, Europe

The problem is, as per this story about the horrendous words of a British MP, that it sets up a false dichotomy between the "good" Jews--the long dead ones--and the "bad" Jews--those who are alive and kicking in Israel. When Holocaust remembrance becomes little more than a weapon brandished to threaten and pummel living Jews for supposedly failing to live up to the standards of the saintly dead ones (saintly largely for being dead and therefore completely non-threatening), something is very amiss, and very broken, and very, very sick.

I don't give a crap about Europeans wringing their hands and laying wreaths and shedding copious crocodile tears about the Holocaust. Better they should eschew their pathological Zionhass, their vile Israelophobia, because that's the only way they'll be able to play an effective role in routing the Shoah, Part II.

Iranian Monkey Business

The Khomeinists are very proud of their simian astronaut. His name: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:
Iran's successfully given a live monkey a round trip into space, the country's Al-Alam television channel reports.
"Iran successfully launched a capsule, codenamed Pishgam [Pioneer], containing a monkey and recovered the shipment on the ground intact," the report cited the defence ministry's aerospace department as saying.
It claimed that the monkey was launched into space on a Kavoshgar rocket on a sub-orbital flight last week. It reached a height of 75 miles, was successfully retrieved, and was still alive, it said.
Iran claims that it's previously been successful in sending a rat, turtles and worms into space - but an attempt to send a monkey to space in summer 2011 failed, for reasons that were never explained.
It also claims - rather less credibly - to have built a functional flying saucer...
Now, if it claimed to have built a functional flying carpet, that would be impressive.

Well, He DID Make the Trains Run on Time...

Sylvio '"Bunga Bunga Ay Caramba!" Berlusconi praises Benito Mussolini, says his alliance with Hitler was justified because he wanted to be on the winning side.

Siding with Hitler=bad judgment. Praising a dictator's bad judgement=bad judgment + molto imbecility.

Trans Moppet Evinces a Sense of Victimhood Way Beyond Her Years

The transgendered being flavour of the month in the victimhood gelato store, the story of an 11-year old trans kid named Sadie who wrote President Obama a letter (she wanted to know why he didn't mentions the trans community in his inaugural address) elicits much gushing from a couple of HuffPo opiners. What caught my eye, though, was this, which I found way down the page:
Sadie socially transitioned from male to female in kindergarten.
In kindergarten?!?  Seriously?

Am I the only one who thinks that that's way too young?

A "Human Book"? How Very Fahrenheit 451 (Not)

In Ray Bradbury's novel about a future dystopia in which books are banned and burned, individuals risk all to memorize great works of literature in order to keep them alive. In that sense, these people become "human books."

In our present-day Trudeaupia, where diversity of provenance is hailed but diversity of opinion is deplored, where the victim group is seen as being innately noble and virtuous and therefore worthy of being accorded extra rights unavailable to individuals in the general populace, "human books" have no literary merit and are merely endless narratives about victimhood:
Winnipeg – Personal stories of prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination will be brought to life by “human books” this week, as the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) partners with the Winnipeg Public Library and CBC Manitoba in a three-day event leading up to National Human Library Day on January 26.
In a Human Library, people become the books that are “borrowed” by the public for onsite conversations. All have been personally confronted with discrimination and stereotyping, which denigrate the basic premise of human rights – that everyone is worthy of respect because they are human.
“This event helps the Museum facilitate public dialogue about important human-rights issues, even though we have no completed venue yet of our own,” said CMHR librarian Stephen Carney. “Building linkages to the community and promoting human-rights education is an important part of our role – and it’s something we’ll continue after we open in 2014.”
...The list of Human Books and schedule are available at http://wpl.winnipeg.ca/library/humanlibrary.asp.
Thanks, but I think I'll wait till they come out in mass market paperback versions (and then decline to buy them).

Update: Ray Bradbury sheds lights on what inspired him to write the book.

Sharia in the UK--Judge Lets Muslim Get Away With Raping 13-Year-Old Girl When He 'Splains That He Didn't Know it Was a Crime

This one beats all:
A muslim who raped a 13-year-old girl he groomed on Facebook has been spared a prison sentence after a judge heard he went to an Islamic faith school where he  was taught that women are worthless.
Adil Rashid, 18, claimed he was not aware that it was illegal for him to have sex with the girl because his education left him ignorant of British law.
Yesterday Judge Michael Stokes handed Rashid a suspended sentence, saying: ‘Although chronologically 18, it is quite clear from the reports that you are very naive and immature when it comes to sexual matters.’
Earlier Nottingham Crown Court heard that such crimes usually result in a four to seven-year prison sentence.
But the judge said that because Rashid was ‘passive’ and ‘lacking assertiveness’, sending him to jail might cause him ‘more damage than good’...
In other words, ignorance of the law is no defense. Except when you're an "unassertive" Muslim (who was assertive/agressive enough to rape a young girl).

"Reverting" to Islam if You're Gay: What a Queer Choice

Troubled gay HuffPo blogger details his manifold problems post-reversion:
I have recently moved to the Midwest where the most common question I get is, "You're gay? But how can you be Muslim?" It just does not make sense to think that. It would be like me telling someone you can't be Christian because you are not white.
I do enjoy being able to talk to people about the fact that I am gay and Muslim but more importantly that I am just a person. I want the same things in life as anyone else.
I am blatantly discriminated against by the Muslim Student Association at school for being gay. I do not actively tell Muslims that I am gay when I meet them, but when I befriend them on Facebook, sometimes, I get a hate-filled message, which is not okay.
What people do not realize is that every time I get a hate-filled message it brings back my feelings of self-hate and plunges me into a depression. However, I am happy that now depression usually does not last long because I have friends I can talk to and they understand...
If you're a gay suffused with self-loathing and you embrace a religion that abominates your sexuality, thereby reinforcing your self-hatred, I have but one recommendation: Get thee to a psychotherapist, post haste!

Peter Beinart's Wishful Thinking

In the wake of the Israeli election, the self-adoring pseudo-Zionist writes:
[T]he power dynamic between the American and Israeli leaders has shifted in Obama’s direction. And if Obama wants, he’ll be well-positioned to hasten Netanyahu’s demise, and push Israel toward elections that just might produce a Lapid-led government more open to a viable Palestinian state.
Now, if only he could find a Palestinian leader who's more open to a viable Palestinian state which doesn't (via the "right" of return) overwhelm and replace the Jewish one...

Frankly, This One Goes Out to Egypt's Mo Morsi

You make us feel so loathed.
You make us feel so decomposed.
And every time we hear you spin
We  know it will be
Indefensible.
The moment that you spew
'Bout swine and monkeys and "the Jew"
We wanna go and take a pill:
From nausea we're ill.

You and yours
Are just a big cadre of thugs.
Beating up on Christians.
Why does Obama give you hugs?

You make us feel despised.
You're always telling your Big Lies.
Lies that surmise about Zions'
Eventual demise.
And even when you're dead and gone
There will be more, lots more, like you
Anon.
And you, you make us feel despised.

When Mark Steyn Deconstructs Hillary's Amoral Cri de Coeur, It DOES Make a Difference

What an arrogant and morally bankrupt shrew she is:
A couple of days later, it fell to the 45th president-in-waiting to encapsulate the ethos of the age in one deft sound bite: What difference does it make? Hillary Clinton's instantly famous riposte at the Benghazi hearings is such a perfect distillation that it surely deserves to be the national motto of the United States. They should put it on Paul Krugman's trillion-dollar coin, and in the presidential oath.
"Do you solemnly swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?
"Sure. What difference, at this point, does it make?"
Well, it's the difference between cool and reality – and, as Hillary's confident reply appeared to suggest, and the delirious media reception of it confirmed, reality comes a poor second in the Obama era. The presumption of conservatives has always been that, one day, cold, dull reality would pierce the klieg-light sheen of Obama's glamour. Indeed, that was the premise of Mitt Romney's reductive presidential campaign. But, just as Beyoncé will always be way cooler than some no-name operatic soprano or a male voice choir, so Obama will always be cooler than a bunch of squaresville yawneroos boring on about jobs and debt and entitlement reform. Hillary's cocksure sneer to Sen. Johnson of Wisconsin made it explicit. At a basic level, the "difference" is the difference between truth and falsity, but the subtext took it a stage further: no matter what actually happened that night in Benghazi, you poor sad loser Republicans will never succeed in imposing that reality and its consequences on this administration...
The take-away from Hillary's testimony: It takes a village of Obama minions to hide the awful truth about Benghazi.

Ontario Liberals are Choosing a New Leader. I Hope They Go With Sandra Pupatello

Oh, not because I support her policies over those of her opponents. It's just that I get an admittedly childish charge out of repeating her semi-scatological name. (Poopatello, Poopatello, Poopatello, Poopyheadtello eat some jello: what fun!)

Also--she looks like someone who would not seem out of place on the Real Housewives of New Joisey--which would bring some much needed style, though not necessarily of the tasteful kind, to the drab and dour precincts of Queen's Park.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

The candidate with the semi-scatological name

Devil Worshippers Applaud Florida's New School Rule

Gotta love those Satan fans:
A group of self-proclaimed Satanists on Friday praised Florida Gov. Rick Scott for signing a bill into law last year that lets Florida school boards permit student-initiated prayer and other "inspirational messages."
During their rally, a white sign with black lettering was stretched across the steps of Florida's Old Capitol proclaiming "Hail Satan! Hail Rick Scott!"
A high priest wearing goat horns and four "minions" dressed in black, hooded robes were joined by a spokesman, sound technician and camera crew.
The devil, though, was in the details...
You can say that again.

Queers for Sharia (With a Special Guest Appearance by OISE's Little Jenny Peto) on Display at This Year's Israeli Apartheid Week

If only because of the mordant laughter it would have elicited, I was hoping that UN World Interfaith Harmony Week would coincide with this year's Israeli Apartheid Week. As it turns out, though, the latter is a month later.

Oh, well. Maybe some of "interfaithers," "progressive" division, will find their way to this IAW event:

Jenny Peto again? Oy to the vey! But speaking of the, er, co-optation of human rights--isn't that what the Zion-loathers have done? Co-optationed (sic) "human rights" as a smokescreen for their own Marxism and/or Islamic supremacism--the reason they continually cast aspersions on Israel in particular and the West in general--and their thirst for power?

Update: An antidote for IAW Big Lies:

Hot Damn! Toronto to Host UN's "World Interfaith Harmony Week" Next Month

Keep the week of Feb. 1-7 open for a plethora of samosa-filled events:
The week’s festivities are still being planned, but so far sponsors include the Toronto Area Interfaith Council, which represents numerous religions. The kickoff event on Feb. 1, sponsored by the Toronto chapter of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada, will be about celebrating interfaith culture and will be held at Subhani Hall at the Jamia Riyadhul Jannah, a mosque in Mississauga.
Can't hardly wait. Anything interfaithy sponsored by the UN (Ground Zero for global Zionhass) that includes the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada (Syed Soharwardy's supremacist outfit) is bound to be little more than smoke and mirrors intended to beguile ignorant but well-meaning infidels fantabulous!

"Interfaith" in Action: Kafirs, Khomeinists and the Muslim Brotherhood Pay for Islamic Prayers at U of T's Christian Theological College

Congrats to Emmanuel College on its brand spanking new prayer and ablution facilities!:
Dr. Bullock said the Muslim prayer room includes separate ablution facilities– special washing facilities used before prayer – for men and women, new carpets and a refurbished ceiling, and a wall so that worshippers are not disturbed when people come into the room.  Emmanuel College and Victoria University covered the approximately $70,000 cost of preparing the ablution facilities and various sources in the Muslim community -  including the Canadian Jaffari Muslim Foundation*, the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, the Islamic Institute of Toronto, the Muslim Chaplaincy, and the Muslim Students Association of the University of Toronto** – donated the approximately $25,000 to renovate the prayer  room.
Mark Toulouse, Principal of Emmanuel College and Professor of the course The History of Christianity at Emmanuel College, said the University of Toronto has a large number of graduate and undergraduate Muslim students at its St. George Campus; and while there are multiple prayer facilities on the west side of the campus, the east side didn't have any.
“It's significant to provide a prayer room for Muslim students. As an interfaith school, we want to show how important these relationships are.  This theological school is historically Christian, but we want dialogue with other faiths to show how much we respect them. Prayer is very important to the daily exercise of the practice of Islam, so we need to provide space for their religious practices. Hospitality is most important.”...
There's a point at which "hospitality" veers into rank dhimmitude. It appears Prof. Toulouse has reached it.

The Madness of Arming a Pathological Jew-Hater

America sends F16s to old Mo "Jooos R Animals" Morsi. Andrew McCarthy has this to say about that:
When Mohamed Morsi dehumanizes Jews as “the descendants of apes and pigs,” there’s an elephant in the room. We find it here:
Those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil — these are many times worse in rank, and far more astray from the even Path!
You see, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood mahoff–turned–president did not conjure up the apes-and-pigs riff on his own. When Morsi fulminates that Muslims “must not forget to nurse our children and grandchildren on hatred towards those Zionists and Jews, and all those who support them,” he is taking his cues straight from the Koran. Or rather, from the Holy Koran, as “progressive” American politicians take pains to call it in the off hours from their campaign to drive every last vestige of Judeo-Christian culture from the public square...
And a damn fine job they're doing, so let's a round of applause for these chumps.

Happy-Go-Jihadi

My chuckle of the day:
College classmates say that an Oregon terrorism suspect was a happy-go-lucky college student who enjoyed drinking and football.
The image described by classmates Friday in the terrorism trial of Mohamed Mohamud is a strong contrast to the man depicted in previous testimony as a hardened, teenage jihadi intent on killing thousands.
Mohamud has been charged with attempting to detonate a bomb at a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Portland in 2010. The bomb was a fake supplied by undercover FBI agents.
Elyssa Ridinger was a freshman in Mohamud's class at Oregon State University in 2009.
She testified that on the morning of the tree lighting, she, Mohamud and their friends went Black Friday shopping and that he was in good spirits.
She says he showed no signs of anti-Western sentiment.
Well, if I were a hardened jihadi intent on killing thousands of infidels, I'd probably pretend to be happy-go-lucky, too. Generally speaking, acting all snarly and shouting "Allahu Akbar!" to your schoolmates is not the way to go when plotting large scale terror attacks.

"Indigenous Spring or Intifada"?

Neither, actually. But that doesn't stop the outfit posing the question--the Canadian Arab Federation--from trying to hoist its bedraggled Zion-loathers flag on the passing bandwagon of disgruntled Aboriginals. It's a turn of events which, though hardly surprising, is more than a little alarming:
The winds of change that swept across the globe have reached our shores.
The world watched as the Arab-speaking peoples whose suffering can be measured in decades, rose up for dignity and justice. First Nations Peoples of Canada, who have suffered for centuries on their land, are no longer remaining idle in the face of continuing injustices.
Correcting the wrongs of the past should not await a First Nations Spring. The Harper government would be well advised to change course in dealing with Indigenous grievances. It is far too easy to continue the course that successive Canadian governments have taken in dealing with First Nations; although vastly different consequences may ensue this time around. An open and honest dialogue that is free of hateful stereotypes is a necessary starting point to addressing this pressing and just cause.
The Canadian Arab Federation supports the rights and interests of First Nations Peoples and their endeavors to correct the mistakes of the past and present. CAF calls on Prime Minister Harper to seize the practices of the past and uphold the commitment he made to work with First Nations Peoples. The rights of First Nations have been usurped for far too long and a fair and just implementation of existing, enshrined and negotiated treaty rights must begin.
Victims of a feather stick together? Good luck with that one, angry Arabs. (BTW and FYI First Nations Peoples of Canada: should sharia come to our shores, your treaty rights will be null and void and "usurped" forever. Stick that in your peace pipe and smoke it).

Semi-amusing, but nowhere near as rib-tickling as the original.

U.S. Pressures Israel to Show Up and Take Its Annual Licking from the Heinous UN "Human Rights" Council

The UN's "human rights" racket, where never is heard an encouraging word about Israel, has invited the Jewish State to come and receive some more ritual humiliation--and Obama's unbelievably dense factotum is all gung-ho for it:
A planned session of the UN Human Rights Council is likely to be boycotted by Israel as a protest against the group's perceived stance on the Jewish state.
Despite the United States urging Israel to attend the session in Geneva on Tuesday, Israel is expected to refuse. It is not a member of the UNHRC and last March broke with the organisation after it arranged to probe the impact of the West Bank settlements on the Palestinians. The mission was described at the time by Israel as "another blatant expression of the singling out of Israel in the UNHRC and of the uncandid approach that characterises the Council's dealing with Israel".
The suggestion that the UNHRC is disproportionately critical of Israel is one that is broadly shared by the Americans, who said this week that there was "a structural bias" against the country in the ranks of the UN body.
But next week's meeting is due to cover a Universal Periodic Review of the human rights situation in Israel, a mechanism that has been in place for all countries since 2007 and one that the US believes is crucial.
Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe, the US representative to the UNHRC, said : "It is a tool that treats all countries equally and is universally applicable.
"We have encouraged the Israelis to come to the council and to tell their story and to present their own narrative of their own human rights situation."
It is unclear what the ramifications will be if the Israelis do boycott the UPR, but it is likely that the review will go ahead even without representatives of the country present.
In other words, the Zion-loathers are perfectly content to try Israel in absentia. In fact, they'd probably prefer it.

As for the dim Ms. Donahoe's assertion re the body's equality and universality: Is she freaking insane?

Jihad/Genocide an Elective for Kids at Gaza High Schools

From AP:
More than 3,000 Palestinian teenagers on Thursday graduated from the ruling Hamas militant group's first high school military training program in the Gaza Strip, displaying mock weapons, crawling commando-style on the ground and taking up fighting positions for thousands of cheering supporters.
Hamas officials said the Futuwwa, or "Youth," program is aimed at fostering a new generation of leaders in the struggle against Israel.
"We teach the youth to honour the national flag and anthem, to strengthen their affinity with the homeland and Jerusalem, the spirit of resistance and the principles of steadfastness," said Abu Hozifa, a 29-year-old national security officer who teaches in the program. "We also prepare them in terms of faith and physical fitness to serve as resistance fighters if they want to be in the future."
The program is a weekly elective that is offered in all Gaza high schools. Officials said 3,600 participated in the first session, which began in September.
During the one-hour session each week, students were taught to climb down buildings on ropes, jump through obstacle courses and crawl under barbed wire. The oldest students are trained to use light weapons, while younger ones train with wooden rifles. Each participant is assigned to a security officer who oversees their training.
The first graduates, called the "Liberation Vanguards," were dressed in black T-shirts and hats, and some painted their faces black.
"My officer taught me the values of courage, sacrifice and love of jihad, as well as some battle tactics," said Radwan Wasfi, 15, whose black-painted face dripped with sweat after going through a drill. "I feel that I can free my energy in a good way. I can do for real what I do in video games."
Hamas' prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, who attended the ceremony held at a soccer stadium, said he had ordered his education minister to establish a full-time military college to open next September.
"This is the generation that will bring victory to its people and will liberate their land," he told the audience...

Breaking News: Brits Arrest 5 Muslims Behind Vigilante Video

I'm pretty sure it wasn't called "Innocence of Muslims":
LONDON –  British police say they've arrested five people linked to a video of self-proclaimed Muslim vigilantes threatening revelers on the streets of east London.
One of the videos shows a group shouting anti-gay slurs at a man in dark eye makeup. Other videos show a group accosting a drink-toting man, shooing a non-Muslim couple away from a mosque and harassing a young woman in a miniskirt.
At one point, the videographer identifies the group as "vigilantes implementing Islam" but its exact makeup remains unclear...
The group's "exact makeup"? Exactly five jihadis, no?

If I Had My Pound of Flesh, Yubba Dibby Dibby Dibby Dibby Dibby Dibby Dum

Anyone else find it, what?--funny? strange? weirdly inappropriate?--that this year's Stratford Festival (the Ontario one) has programmed The Merchant of Venice, that most antisemitic of plays, along with Fiddler on the Roof, that most Jewiest/schmaltziest of Broadway musicals? Is the latter intended to neutralize the former?

FYI, I'm thinking of writing a musical version of Merchant that will have a fiddle-playing Shylock and Bock/Harnick-esque songs. Title: The Taming of the Jew, of course.

Grandiose Ayatollah Issues a Fatwa on Nuclear Weapons. Who's Buying the Taqiyyah?

Not moi, even if his Grandiosity claims that it's a religious obligation:
Last week, Iran confirmed the fatwa against nuclear weapons issued by the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

On January 15, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement, suggesting that the edict should end the debate over whether Tehran was pursuing nuclear arms.

Although it is a religious decree, it was issued by Khamenei, who enjoys the country's highest jurisprudent authority. He also has the final say in all Iran's affairs. Therefore, the decree is binding for Iran's government and people.

Khamenei has expressed his opposition to the development of nuclear weapons several times. Iran's government and officials have also reached a consensus and common viewpoint. Iran plans to make use of nuclear energy peacefully instead of developing nuclear weapons...
Further to the fatuous fatwa, here's my big bang theory:

Our whole planet Earth it faced a hot, intense threat
But then a crafty Ayatollah snarled
That that claim was all wet.
The Shiite spinners spun,
The wily Russians joined the fun,
Neanderthals who hated Jews
Developed bombs; thought they'd bamboozled us!
Lies, deceit, hysteria,
The Shias wanna bury ya,
It's all startin' with their big bang!...

Madcap Mo Morsi to U.S. Senators: The Joooos Control the Media

Not only should they not have given this conspiracy-mongering, sharia-adoring blackguard the time of day, but they should have retorted: "Oh yeah? If the Jews control the media, then why do they get such bad press?"

Charles Krauthammer's Succinct Response to Hillary's Query

What's the difference, at this point, what sparked Benghazi? The difference, 'splains Krauthammer, is self-evident. It's the difference "between truth and falsehood."'

How do you suppose the young Hillary, an attorney connected to the Watergate probe, might have reacted had, say, H.R. Haldeman told the Watergate Committee re a two-bit break-in, "What's the difference, at this point, who was behind it?"

What goes around comes around, as they say. Alas, the consequences are likely to be a lot different depending on whether you're a Nixon or an Obama.

Hillary "Marie Antoinette" Clinton's Callous Question Is One for the History Books

"What difference, at this point, does it make?" queried a querulous Mrs. Clinton when asked whether a crappy YouTube trailer of a non-existent film or something else--like, say, the jihad--was behind the Benghazi debacle. To which VDH responds:
Two thoughts arise, aside from her own health issues (no doubt brought on by an admirable but grueling regimen of travel in often inhospitable places) that make such testimony understandably taxing and need to be taken into consideration. But that said, comparing big tragedies to smaller ones: Did it matter, for example, whether Hezbollah pre-planned the Marine barracks bombing or the Khobar Towers attacks, or the American deaths were just the results of angry youths who spontaneously coalesced to commit violence? Do such circumstances matter to the families of the deceased, to national-security officials responsible to prevent further occurrences, to a public that demands honesty and transparency from its officials?
Secretary Clinton did not mean to show indifference, but her rhetorical question was one of the low points in her long career, one that might pass without too much fanfare at the moment but will reverberate a lot in the future...
With all due respect, I beg to differ with VDH. I think her query was every bit as callous and indifferent to suffering as that long-ago reaction of a French queen to a statement re her citizenry having no bread to eat.

Update: "What difference does it make?" Plenty. Especially to the poor sap who got hauled into jail, police state style, because Obama and his minions blamed Benghazi on an "offensive" bio of Islam's founder..
