Don't you hate when that happens?
DETROIT (AP) — An attorney for a
Saudi man arrested at
Detroit
Metropolitan Airport after federal agents accused him of lying about why he
was traveling with a pressure cooker says his client knew nothing about the
device's use in Boston Marathon bombings.
Defense attorney
James
Howarth says his client, Hussain Al Khawahir (HOO'-sayn ahl kah-WAH'-heer),
brought the pressure cooker at the request of his nephew.
Al Khawahir appeared in federal
court Tuesday in Detroit. He waived his right to a detention hearing and will be
jailed until a preliminary exam May 28. He was arrested Saturday.
His nephew, Nasser Almarzooq
(NAH'sur ahl mar-ZOOK'), told
The
Associated Press on Monday that
the arrest was a misunderstanding and that
he wanted the high-quality device to cook lamb.
Almarzooq is a college student
in Ohio.
Pressure cookers don't kill people. Jihadis who pack pressure cookers with nails and other shrapnel kill people.
Like there are no pressure cookers available in Ohio? Those are heavy, awkward beasts; the type of thing you would NOT choose to take in your carry-on.
