Racial disproportionality remains an ongoing concern in the Canadian child welfare system, with the over-representation of Aboriginal and Black children being most pronounced. The Speakers argue that critical race feminism & anti-colonialism are pertinent theoretical perspectives for addressing racial disproportionality in the child welfare system. They will highlight findings from their empirical research and other scholars to illustrate how racism and colonialism are embedded within everyday practices of Ontario child welfare.
