The protest was mostly peaceful, save for a minor altercation with a small group of Jewish American tourists. The tourists, who took the opportunity to voice their support for Israel during the protest, were told to leave by Montreal police.Uppity Jewish Yanks! What chutzpah!

"Thousands" of Zion-Loathers Rage, Seethe in Montreal
They're protesting because they believe Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been unfairly backing Israel over Hamas. I found this part of the HuffPo report bleakly amusing:
