An opiner in the Toronto Star thinks the "lessons" are all about rape, rape culture and chicks getting raped all over the place and failing to lay charges because of the unpleasant treatment they know they'd be in for from police and in the courtroom.
I think the "lessons" are somewhat different. They are about the rot that sets in when a corporation (in this instance, our lavishly-funded state broadcaster) refuses to acknowledge a "star" employee's dreadful and possibly criminal behavior, preferring to ignore it in the hope that the problem will go away. It never does, of course, and ends up blowing up in a way it likely wouldn't have had it been dealt with at an earlier stage.
