Well, That's One Way to Deal With the Umpteenth Playing of "Jingle Bell Rock"

The Toronto Star elicits the opinions of retail employees re which Christmas song most drives them crazy. For me, it's the one mentioned above. Others, however, cite "We Need a Little Christmas" and "Little Drummer Boy," while "Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel" (funny, that doesn't sound Christmasish) is someone else's least favorite tune.

The best part of the article, though, is a comment left by someone named HeaveSteve 2015. Here's how he once dealt with obnoxious Christmas songs:

There are music services stores can subscribe to that mix regular canned music with the odd holiday tune, but sadly, my old store always went whole hog with the Xmas schlock. My most hated: The Chipmunk song. After a few years of torture, I discovered a way to create the silence. I would use one of the store's portable phones (this was at Home Depot), activate the paging system, and hide the phone. We'd get several hour of bliss, until a manager found it and turned the tunes back on.
