David Cameron Channels His Inner Obama

Sounds to me like Dave has been spending far too much time chilling with America's Obfuscator-in-Chief:
On CBS’s Face the Nation, British prime minister David Cameron declined to describe the fight against Islamic terrorism as a “war.”
“It has many similar aspects [of war], but my way of expressing this is that this is just a huge challenge our society faces,” Cameron said. “What I don’t want to do is try and posit that there’s some clash of civilizations going on because that is what the terrorists want.”
Cameron continued to explain that the terrorists are not true adherents of Islam, and are best understood as “fanatics who have attached themselves to a death cult.” Cameron said describing the conflict as a war of “us against them” would only help the terrorists’ narrative gain traction.
Pathetic. Can you imagine Churchill saying, "What I don't want to do is try and posit that there's some clash of nations going on because that is what the Nazis want"?

No? Neither can I.

I suppose we should be grateful that at least he didn't refer to the jihad as "violent extremism."

Update: The Nazis were Germans (even though Hitler was Austrian) who sprang from the bosom of German kultur. The jihadis are true adherents of Islam who, in their own way, are doing what the defeated Nazis claimed to be doing--i.e. only following orders. The difference is that the jihadis, who do indeed belong to a Nazi-like death cult, are following holy orders.
