Lucky for Mrs. Clinton she didn't need a Rosemary Woods to account for

Anything Goes in Lausanne

With apologies galore to Mr. Porter:

In olden days (before Khomeini)
You know Iran hadn't any plans to explode.
Now nukes are a go.
Good diplomats who weren't so craven
Would never have caved to ravin' by Ayato's
Now nukes are a go
The world's down the drain today,
There's "Hussein" today,
And bad's good today
In his 'hood today,
'Cuz Israel today
Is in the way today
As "ev'rybody" knows.
Obama's out to lunch and bonkers
And while he stoops Iran conquers. So apropos
That nukes are a go...

History Repeats (Like Bad Chopped Liver)

First there was the Wannsee  Conference, which gave the go-ahead for the "Final Solution"...

...now there's the Lausanne Conference, which may well give the go-ahead for the "Final Final Solution."

Update: "It's one cave after another..."

The Evil Men (Like Obama) Do

Re making a deal with the devil, Cal Thomas writes:
The president is cozying up to a nation that oppresses women, has an apocalyptic view of the world and believes that if it starts a nuclear war the 12th Imam — the Islamic messiah — will emerge from a well and bring peace on Earth and good will, at least to Shia Muslim men. Women will remain subject to male domination and have only the few rights given to them by men.
Israel, which embraces Western values of free elections, religious tolerance and pluralism, a free press and equal rights for women is treated by President Obama and his administration as Iran should be treated. Do these people suffer from diplomatic dyslexia, or anti-Semitism?
Why must we choose when, clearly, these people suffer from both?

Graduation Day for ISIS Class of '15

So touching. And I hear every single one of 'em already has a "job" (it's called "jihad", and the turnover is brutal).

Beeb Chief Says that Under the Circumstances It's "Tough" to Be Balanced Re Israel and Hamas

Considering that the circumstances include the Beeb's endemic Zionhass along with its masochistic adoration of jihadi thugs who want to destroy Israel for the sake of Islam, he rather has a point.

Update: Here's another unbalanced (and unhinged) Brit.

The Ultimate No-No Du Jour

Jamie Foxx is in big trouble for daring to make "jokes" about transitioning "transparent" Bruce Jenner.

Update: On the other hand, if you want to use a familiar anti-Semitic trope in the pages of the New Yorker, as Lena Dunham does here, that's A-OK--and high-larious:
Lena’s quiz is another example of anti-Semitism on the left, that while it never mentions Israel, the Palestinians or the Middle East, is contributing to a broader dehumanization in leftist media that does focus on the above.
I don’t believe that Lena Dunham has any malicious agenda towards Jews. What is exceedingly disturbing is that someone who has grown up surrounded by Jews believes that it is acceptable to publish ridiculing and dehumanizing tropes humorously, that are exactly those tropes that have been part and parcel of real historical and present anti-Semitism. What is exceedingly disturbing is that so many in my generation of American Jews whose parents put an emphasis on secular over Jewish education, are inclined to take this language lightly.

Bruce Jenner as a chick? Frankly, I prefer Tootsie's look.

Word Is Out That Obama Is Going to Passover Israel

According to a story in the WaPo,
the Obama administration is getting ready to back a U.N. Security Council resolution that would, in his words, “mandate the solution to the questions Israelis and Palestinians have been unable to agree upon for decades, such as the future status of Jerusalem.” Why does this matter? If Israel rejects peace terms imposed on it by outsiders, the effort to turn the Jewish homeland into a pariah state will gain enormous ground. This is a consequence that the president must fully understand. If Obama’s champions are to be believed, he is a subtle strategic thinker with a deep understanding of history. So no, his efforts to radically remake our relationship with Israel isn’t a reflection of ignorance or a lack of familiarity with the basics of the conflict. If the president chooses to pursue this dangerous course, let no American who values our alliance with Israel, or for that matter our national honor, ever forget it.
And let no Jew forget that Obama is the latest in a long line of Jewry's enemies, only one of whom was Pharaoh.

Update: Melanie Phillips doesn't think Obama will be allowed to get away with it. She says
the American people remain overwhelmingly supportive of Israel. This is largely because of the great mass of biblically-faithful Christians, for whom the Jews and the state of Israel are indeed God's beloved people (albeit to be converted at the end of days) and promised land.
Beyond these Christians, most Americans believe Israel represents their values and serves as the front line of their defence. More profoundly, they identify with Israel because they feel America is also a special and blessed land with a mission to the world. For sure, this support is now under attack. Jewish students are running the gauntlet of anti-Israel aggression on US campuses. The coverage of Israel by the New York Times is a breathtaking display of sustained journalistic malice and distortion.
Despite all this, those who want to destroy the US /Israel relationship face an obstacle. For the real "Israel lobby" is not America's tiny Jewish community. It is America itself.
I agree, but Obama seems to know how to ignore/bypass/get around what Americans want and do his own thing (so to speak).

Today is "Land Day"--for the Jews

On this day 3,327 years ago, "the People of Israel crossed the Jordan River to enter the Land of Israel promised to them by God, in accordance with His Commandment."

Remarkable How Incurious the Media Are About Harry Reid's Cock-and-Bull Story About His, Um, "Accident"

Were a Republican senator from Nevada to show up with his injuries, claiming that his exercise equipment went rogue and did the deed, the media would be crawling all over it. But this being Harry Reid, no one in the corrupt, left-leaning media seems to be questioning his obviously fallacious excuse or his sudden subsequent retirement. Could the truth have less to do with a workout regime gone wrong and be more about some goons from Vegas making him an offer (i.e. "retire--or else") he didn't dare refuse?

Trashing Israel? That's So Ceeb!

On Michael Enright's radio show this morning you can hear the looniest, most Bibi-bashing journalist in Israel (he writes for far-lefty rag Ha'aretz, of course) saying the sorts of things (for example, expressing support for BDS efforts) that make Ceeb Zion-loathers feel all warm 'n' fuzzy inside.

Karaoke Khamenei

Since things seem to be going the Grandiose Ayatollah's way in nuke talks with the infidel pushovers, he decided to take a few moments out of his busy schedule to sing this tribute to E.Y. "Yip" Harburg, lyricist extraordinaire:

I would pulverize the Sunnis
And all their wives and hunnis.
There will be no rebuke.
All the Jews would be vapor
You could read it in the paper
When I finally have a nuke.

I will best that dolt, Obama,
With very little drama.
That suck-up makes me puke.
Pretty soon you'll see my Mahdi--
He's a goodi not a bahdi--
When I finally have a nuke.

Picture me,
Hegemony,
From sea to shining sea.
Wherefore art thou, John Kerry?
He's on his knees? Yes, please.

I will keep up my enrichin'
And make 'em stop their bitchin',
My win won't be fluke.
Obama's "legacy" is looming
And it's full of doom 'n' glooming
When I finally have a nuke.

Surprisingly, Caroline Glick Sees a Light at the End of the Tunnel That Isn't an Oncoming Train (or Nuke)

I love Caroline Glick, but you have to admit that most the time she's a huge Devorah Downer. That's why I was so surprised--and I have to say pleased--to read her optimist summary of Israel's plight at what can only be described as a very dark time:
Our current situation is unpleasant. But it isn’t the end of the world. We aren’t helpless. If we act wisely, we can stem Iran’s nuclear and regional advance. If we act boldly, we can preserve our alliance with the US while adopting a policy toward the Palestinians that for the first time in decades will advance our interests and our liberal values on the world stage.
Halevai, as my late Bubbie would have said.

What Chicks Should Know BEFORE Being Lured to Syria By Offers of Free Kittens and Nutella--ISIS Has the Same Check-Out Policy as the Hotel California

Which is to say you can check out any time you like but you can never leave:
The risks of moving into a war zone and being caught between warring factions or aerial strikes are rarely mentioned. In addition, there are reports of sexual abuse or teenage girls forced to move from one husband to another as their fighter husbands are killed.
Clearly what is never mentioned in the propaganda is that joining the Islamic State may be easy — getting out is hard.
Kittens are cute and Nutella is sweet, but they hardly make up for the life of sheer misery these "caliphettes"/sluts for jihad are signing up for.

File This One Under "Jews Who Are Jewry's Worst Enemies": Loony-Lefty Israeli Writer Amoz Oz's Anti-Israel Film "Censored Voices" is One of This Year's Hot Docs

Hot Docs is an annual film festival devoted to documentaries from around the world. Perusing the paper version of this year's film catalogue, this one caught my eye:
The Six-Day War profoundly altered both the borders and the political climate of the Middle East. A victorious and euphoric Israel took control of Gaza, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank and parts of the Golan Heights. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and Arabs were displaced, and the term “occupied territories” entered the lexicon. Seen by some as an egregious violation of international law—and the legitimate fulfillment of a religious covenant by others—the territories remain in bitter and politically charged dispute to this day. Weeks after the 1967 war's conclusion, authors Amos Oz and Avraham Shapira audio-taped interviews with dozens of Israeli soldiers. These tapes, heavily censored until now, reveal the men’s conflicted feelings in their new role as occupier. They muse over the meaning of Zionism and express regret over the brutal and dehumanizing realities of war. Director Mor Loushy reunites the aging soldiers with lost audio interviews, skillfully combining them with archival footage and historical context in this powerful and compelling narrative.
No doubt about it--war is hell. But so are the ideas of Mr. Oz, a man devoted to casting Israel in the worst light possible for its failure to "evolve" into the socialist Jewtopia of his fevered dreams. Sickeningly, almost a year ago Brandeis University gave Oz an honorary degree while rescinding the one it was going to give Ayaan Hirsi Ali:
Brandeis University gave an honorary degree to leftist writer Amos Oz who described religious Jews as “Hezbollah in a skullcap”
In one speech, Oz described, “A small sect, a messianic sect, obtuse and cruel, emerged a few years ago from a dark corner of Judaism, and it is threatening to destroy all that is dear and sacred to us, to impose on us a wild and insane blood ritual… They are guilty of crimes against humanity.”
In one of his essays, Oz wrote, “Israel could have become an exemplary state… a small scale laboratory for democratic socialism.”
“Why didn’t Israel develop as the most egalitarian and creative social democratic society in the world? I would say that one of the major factors was the mass immigration of Holocaust survivors, Middle Eastern Jews and non-socialist and even anti-socialist Zionists.”
“Then there were the masses of Orthodox Jews… to whom socialism meant blasphemy and atheism.”
“As for the North African Jews,” Oz writes, they were “conservative, puritan, observant and family oriented and to some extent, chauvinistic, militaristic and xenophobic.”
It goes without saying that Amos Oz is a repugnant human being and a vile bigot. But that didn’t stop Brandeis University from honoring him anyway.
However Brandeis University gave in to pressure from terrorist-linked Muslim Brotherhood front groups like CAIR and the Muslim Students Association to withdraw an honor from a courageous critic of Islam.
It goes without saying that Amos Oz is a repugnant human being and a vile bigot. But that didn't stop Hot Docs from showing his toxic doc anyway.

Hezbo Honcho "Nasty" Nasrallah Slams the Saudis for Fighting Shias Instead of Da Joooos

Khamenei's catamite is mega-p.o.'d with the Wahhabis:
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has condemned Saudi Arabia over its military intervention in Yemen, saying the unfolding developments there deter focus from Israel as the enemy in the region.

In a televised speech, Nasrallah denounced air strikes on Yemen as "unjust, Saudi-American aggression" and blamed Riyadh for "abandoning" the Palestinians.

“If the aim of the war on Yemen is to save the Yemeni people, then why did Saudi Arabia abandon the Palestinian people for long decades?” the Hezbollah leader said in a speech aired on the group's al-Manar TV station.

He added that the events in Yemen prove “that Arab states have never considered Israel an enemy.”...
Poor Nasty. Can't keep his head when all about him are losing it and not blaming it on Joooos.

Update: Channeling his inner Nasty (who's never far from the surface, so he doesn't have to dig all that deeply), Israel's alleged "peace"-partner, Mahmoud Abbas, wants the Arabs to do to the Jews what they are doing to the Houthis.

What a Difference Seven Years Makes: Obama's 2008 Speech to AIPAC a Powerful Rebuke to His Current Actions in the Middle East

Who would have predicted that the Obama who, sincere or not, said the following to AIPAC back in '08 would, seven years later, be doing his utmost to help Iran get the nukes that will allow it to unleash the Shoah, Part II?:
I saw some of those very images [of piles of dead Jews] at Yad Vashem, and they never leave you. And those images just hint at the stories that survivors of the Shoah carried with them. Like Eisenhower, each of us bears witness to anyone and everyone who would deny these unspeakable crimes, or ever speak of repeating them. We must mean what we say when we speak the words "never again."
It was just a few years after the liberation of the camps that David Ben-Gurion declared the founding of the Jewish State of Israel. We know that the establishment of Israel was just and necessary, rooted in centuries of struggle and decades of patient work. But 60 years later, we know that we cannot relent, we cannot yield, and as president I will never compromise when it comes to Israel's security.
Not when there are still voices that deny the Holocaust. Not when there are terrorist groups and political leaders committed to Israel's destruction. Not when there are maps across the Middle East that don't even acknowledge Israel's existence, and government-funded textbooks filled with hatred toward Jews. Not when there are rockets raining down on Sderot, and Israeli children have to take a deep breath and summon uncommon courage every time they board a bus or walk to school.
I have long understood Israel's quest for peace and need for security. But never more so than during my travels there two years ago. Flying in an [Israeli Defense Forces] helicopter, I saw a narrow and beautiful strip of land nestled against the Mediterranean. On the ground, I met a family who saw their house destroyed by a Katyusha rocket. I spoke to Israeli troops who faced daily threats as they maintained security near the blue line. I talked to people who wanted nothing more simple, or elusive, than a secure future for their children.

I have been proud to be a part of a strong, bipartisan consensus that has stood by Israel in the face of all threats. That is a commitment that both John McCain and I share, because support for Israel in this country goes beyond party. But part of our commitment must be speaking up when Israel's security is at risk, and I don't think any of us can be satisfied that America's recent foreign policy has made Israel more secure.
Hamas now controls Gaza. Hezbollah has tightened its grip on southern Lebanon, and is flexing its muscles in Beirut. Because of the war in Iraq, Iran — which always posed a greater threat to Israel than Iraq — is emboldened and poses the greatest strategic challenge to the United States and Israel in the Middle East in a generation. Iraq is unstable, and al-Qaida has stepped up its recruitment. Israel's quest for peace with its neighbors has stalled, despite the heavy burdens borne by the Israeli people. And America is more isolated in the region, reducing our strength and jeopardizing Israel's safety.
The question is how to move forward...
Seven years on, I think we know the answer to that one. Obama has "moved forward" by making kissy-face with the nation that, back in '08, he unequivocally called the single greatest threat to Israel and the U.S. Therefore, the appropriate question to pose: Is the 2015 Obama  insane?

Is he evil?

Is he both?

Justin Trudeau's "Message": So Bland and Boring That Even the Ceeb Can't Help But Criticize It

There's no getting away from it: Justin Trudeau's "message" is about as exciting as warmed-over porridge:

The message

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau on the environment: "I want my three children to grow up in a greener, cleaner country. One that respects the environment. That’s what we all want."
On the economy: "Instead of giving tax breaks to the rich as Mr. Harper has done, we offer to give back the money to those who need it."
On culture: "We must reinvest in culture and be proud of our creators who shine around the globe."
"I’m Justin Trudeau, leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and I have a committed team that defends the values of our community
His rhetoric is as soporific as Ambien. That said, the same sort of non-specific hopeychangey sludge worked like a charm for you know who.

New Muslim Comic Book Superhero "Buraq" Aims to Fight For "Universal" Truth, Justice and and the Islamic Way

Hey, nothing wrong with that, right?:
Buraaq is the alter ego of Yusuf Abdallah, an operations director of a large relief organization who resides in the fictional Nova City. He goes on adventures to different parts of the world, using his powers of super strength, flying and ability to control the elements.
“Our central theme always revolves around Islamic values that are universal and a moral code that is inherent in all major religions. This, of course, is packaged with the elements of mystery, action and adventure.
What say you re "universal" Islamic "values" common to all religions, Ali Sinna?:
The problem with the good teachings of Muhammad is that they are reserved for fellow Muslims. When the hadith says “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself,.” it is talking about the fellow Muslims. The brotherhood in Islam does not extend to everyone. The Quran (9:23) states that the believers should not take for friends and protectors (awlia) their fathers and brothers if they love Infidelity above Islam. In fact there are many verses that tell the Muslims to kill the unbelievers and be harsh to them. A clear example that Islam is not based on the Golden Rule is the verse (48:29): “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other.”
This is the perfect definition of fascism.
There are many other verses that show the brotherhood in Islam is not universal. The non believers have no rights and should not be treated in the same way that Muslims are to be treated. The entire Quran is a breach of the Golden Rule. The Quran tells Muslims to slay the unbelievers wherever they find them (2:191), do not befriend them (3:28), fight them and show them harshness (9:123), smite their heads (47:4), etc. Are these verses compatible with the Golden Rule?
Islam is the only doctrine that calls upon its believers to do evil to others for the simple fact that they are not believers...
In comic book terms, when you compare Buraq to, say, Superman, what you end up with is an animated clash of moral codes.

For Once I Disagree With Ayaan Hirsi Ali

She believes Islam is capable of a "Reformation" (it's the subject of her new book). I think that, so far, Islam has shown itself capable of but one kind of "reformation"--the kind that looks backwards to an earlier and purportedly "purer" time (i.e. the time of Islam's founder and his first few successors, the "rightly-guided caliphs"). Here's what I wrote in a letter to Commentary on more or less the same subject (only it was Daniel Pipes who was pushing the idea at the time):
Daniel Pipes employs a quasi-highfalutin concept—”essentialism”—and argues that it (along with history) points to Muslims’ ability to reform and modernize Islam in a way that the West can live with. If anything, though, history has shown again and again that whenever Islam “reforms,” it does so by looking backward, not forward. That’s because, in keeping with its essential nature, it is a religion that claims its doctrines and its founder are perfect. It divides the planet into two worlds, the world of Islam and the world not yet conquered for Islam. At the same time, the religion accepts no division between mosque and state.
This is not Islamism. It is Islam, pure and simple.
On the subject of Islam and its supposedly rogue aberration, Islamism, Turkey’s strongman, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is a more reliable authority than is Mr. Pipes. Vis-a-vis Islam’s essence, Erdogan has remarked: “Islam is Islam and that is all.” Which is why, pace Mr. Pipes, the future will likely give rise to more reformist movements in keeping with Wahhabism, Khomeinism, and the religious thinking of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is also why the possibility that an Islamic equivalent to, say, Judaism’s reform and reconstructionist movements will gain traction in the Muslim world is so remote as to be nearly ridiculous.

Obama's Existential Threat to Israel Not Exaggerated

How can it be (exaggerated) when HaPOTUS Hameshugga is, via his knuckle-headed nuke deal, set to green light the existential threat posed to Israel by Iran.

This Just In: "Kimye" To Visit Israel

Will anyone be able to keep up with them in the holy city? And, knowing of Kanye's West's tendency to succumb to delusions of graduer (this is a fellow who, after all, likes to think of himself as "Yeezus"), will he end up succumbing to Jerusalem syndrome?

There's "Never Been a Worse Time for Muslims in Canada"? Give Me a Freaking Break!

Calgary, site of a mini-pogrom last summer, has just played host to another one of those woe-is-us pity parties:
Urging mutual respect between community members, Calgary’s young Muslim youth gathered in a special summit designed to exchange ideas on how to keep all Canadians save while maintaining Muslim rights of equality.
There’s “never been a worse time for Muslims in Canada,” Mahdi Qasqas, a psychologist who also organized the Muslim Youth Summit., told Calgary Herald on Thursday, March 26."
Qasqas was speaking to a gathering that grouped scores of Muslim youth who met Wednesday morning in a closed-door workshop, in which federal Public Safety officials discussed how young people can respond if concerned about their peers.
Attendants included Former Calgary police chief Rick Hanson, who is running as the Progressive Conservative candidate for Calgary-Cross.
“There has never been a tougher time to grow up,” Hanson told the students’group.
“It’s hard to do things right, because you are exposed to all kinds of things that encourage or entice you not to live by your beliefs or your principles.”

Hanson stressed that young people who joined militant groups followed a pattern of isolation and broken families that is also common in gang recruitment.
“People like to say, well it’s a religious issue, it’s a cultural issue. Well, it’s not. It’s a vulnerability issue for kids, for young people who grow up who don’t feel valued,” he said...
It is a religious issue.  It's about the siren call of jihad luring young Muslims who cannot seem to resist it.

Are they "vulnerable"? Sure--to imbuing their lives with "meaning" via jihad. If there were no jihad, they'd have to look elsewhere to find meaning. Until and unless we all, Muslims and former police chiefs included, come to grips with that reality, nothing is likely to change.

Canadian Council for Refugees in a Lather Over Our Supposed "Intolerance Towards Muslims"

The CCR released this "Statement in solidarity with Muslims" a few days ago:
The Canadian Council for Refugees is deeply concerned at the rise of intolerance towards Muslims in Canada and calls on political, community and faith leaders to take strong, positive action in response.
Muslim refugees and immigrants arriving in Canada now face increased prejudice and hostility, which greatly undermine efforts to welcome them and support them as they seek to integrate into Canadian society. Muslims bear the overwhelming brunt of anti-terrorism measures, which constantly remind them that, whatever they do or say, they are viewed with suspicion. Canadians’ disproportionate focus on the head coverings worn by some Muslim women is causing much distress for Muslims, while distracting attention from very real problems, such as the discrimination faced by Muslims in the Canadian labour market. At a time when Canadians are concerned about potential radicalization of youth, stereotyping of Muslims is dangerously counter-productive, since it can make Muslim young persons question whether they can ever fully belong in Canadian society.
If intolerance towards Muslims is allowed to continue to grow, there is a real danger that it will influence policies respecting which refugees are selected for resettlement...
Having witnessed the Zionhass on display during the Ayatollah Khomeini's annual Al Quds Day at Queen's Park, and knowing as I do that the vast majority of hate crimes in Canada's largest city are perpetrated against Jews, I'm far more concerned about the intolerance of Muslims, whose population, thanks to our overly generous and un-discriminating immigration and refugee policies, is now three times the size of ours.

Update: Not surprisingly, the CCR's stance finds favour with Canadian Islamic rag, IQRA.

"Israel: Beware of Obama"

Thanks, but I don't think Israel needs the heads up. It's been clear for some time that Barack is getting set to do to Israel what that German co-pilot did to those who, tragically and through no fault of their own, had the misfortune to be on board his airplane.

Update: Obama reminds Roger L. Simon of the German co-pilot too.

"We're Going To Kill You O Kuffar. Inshallah We Will Slaughter You"

"Cubs of the caliphate"--boys as young as eight-years-old--have a rollicking good time at ISIS's indoctrination camps for widdle jihadis. Once they're old enough, they will join "the lions" of ISIS.

Call it "the circle of life," ISIS-style.

Update: More "adorable" jihadis, this time Palestinian ones.

Implied Big Lies Down Under

This is grotesque:
Perhaps the most telling disclosure from the principal of Victoria's largest Islamic school is that when he warns his students not to join Islamic State because it is a plot by Western countries, he's careful to hold back. Omar Hallak, principal of the nearly 2000-strong Al-Taqwa College, told The Age he demurs from identifying the specific countries he believes are training and equipping IS as part of a plan to control oil in the Middle East.
All he says is, "some" Western countries are behind the scheme. Presumably Hallak sees the omission as a measure of his caution and restraint: why smother one bonfire only to pour fuel on another? But what of his students? Aren't they bewildered, poring over maps in the hope of landing on a nation capable of such evil genius – Italy, maybe? Lichtenstein?
Hallak can leave the idea half-formed because he knows his students can fill in the blanks:
Of course not. Hallak can leave the idea half-formed because he knows his students can fill in the blanks: Israel and America. In this genre, even as the storyline changes, the villains are always the same. Hallak cites evidence of the plot in IS's "shiny new equipment". As killing innocent people is not "the Islamic way", Hallak says, "we don't believe Muslims are creating IS". His students are told this truth "many times", and shown "evidence" that IS has no link to Islam...
The villains are always the same. They're the jihadis.

Another "Brilliant" Obama Idea: "The Obama Doctrine"

As with everything else with the prefix "Obama," said doctrine--"downgrade ties to Israel and the Saudis while letting Iran fill the vacuum left by U.S. retreat"--is about as wretched as it gets.

Just Call Me the Hogtown Medium

My prediction: Obama won't be held to account for his crappy Bergdahl swap (one deserter for five hardened jihadis--way to go, Barry!) and for trotting out Ma and Pa B. in that Rose Garden dog-and-pony show.

Can I have my own TLC show now?

Some People (Barbara Hall, Herman Van Rompuy) Get to Ride the Gravy Train Express Into Their Sunset Years

For those who thought it was more than a bit much when, following an extended stint as Ontario's  chief "human rights" commissar, Barbara Hall was tapped by our shady provincial government for yet another cushy gig, here's the story of a highly-placed EU bureaucrat who, like our Babs, has it made:
Herman Van Rompuy will be entitled to more than £500,000 for doing nothing at the taxpayer’s expense over the next three years, after finishing his term as president of Europe.
After standing down on Monday, the former president of the European Council will be paid £133,723 a year, 55 per cent of his basic salary, until December 2017 - to ease him back into life outside the world of Brussels officialdom.
The Telegraph has established that Mr Van Rompuy will also receive a one off payment of £21,000 and, aged 67, he will be able draw a lifetime EU pension worth £52,000 a year, taking his earnings to £578,000 over the next three years.
The "transitional allowance" does not require Mr Van Rompuy to do any work at all and the cash will be paid under reduced rates of EU "community" tax, which are far lower than taxation in his native country of Belgium.
The allowances are defended as "the price for the total independence" of senior European Union officials who must also "ask permission for any job they would like to do for 18 months after leaving”...
Doing nothing at the taxpayers' expense: I bet that's not making Mr. Rumpy-Pumpy grumpy!

Hall and Rumpy-Pumpy sing: "Nice work if you can get it,
and you can get it if you're me..."

As Saudi Arabia Bombs Shia Targets In Yemen, the Entire Region Threatens to Become Engulfed in War

It's becoming a SunniversusShiapalooza!

The laugh of it is that Barack Obama, who set the current conflagration in motion when he pulled American troops out of Iraq (thereby precipitating ISIS's conquests), still thinks everything will settle down once Israel cedes land that will become "Palestine."

Documentary Exposes How UNRWA Turns a Blind Eye as Hamas Trains Boy Jihadis

According to the doc,
Hamas has trained 17,000 teens from refugee camps run by UNRWA, the film says. That "represents a clear human rights violation" under a UN convention on children's rights.
"Hamas' relationship with UNRWA is good, very good," Hamas religious affairs minister Ismail Radwan says.
Well, they have so much in common, after all. For instance, both loathe Israel and are rotten to the core.

Time to set these refugees free and send 'em to...Switzerland, maybe?

The Perfidious Swiss Save Hamas from Going Down the Drain

File this one under "WTF?!?":
Switzerland has put together a plan to reconstruct the Gaza Strip which includes paying the salaries of Hamas operatives, according to Palestinian officials interviewed by Israel’s NRG website. The plan would also reestablish the status of the Hamas terrorist organization as the only authority in the Gaza Strip.
In recent months, according to the report, Hamas has been faced with the danger of collapsing in Gaza, and turned to Swiss officials for help. Its relations with Egypt are at their worst ever, and funds intended to rehabilitate the coastal enclave after Israel’s Operation Protective Edge last summer have run out. Thousands of Hamas officials have not received their salaries for months, leading to weakening of Hamas’ legitimacy in Gaza, and raising the specter of protests against Hamas’ rule.
The Palestinian sources told NRG that the Swiss jumped into the fray and promised to pay the salaries of thousands of Hamas officials...
How, er, considerate of the Swiss. Not unlike the way they cooperated with the Nazis back in the day

A Flagrant and Indefensible Dereliction of Duty

I'm speaking of Obama's, of course, in trading Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl--who is about to be charged by the military with desertion, among other serious charges--for five Taliban commanders who, until Obama sprung 'em, had been safely locked away in Gitmo. According to one report, at least three of the tradees have now sought to rejoin the jihad.

Does anyone doubt that, had he to do it all over again, Obama (who said just the other day that, looking back, he should have closed Gitmo on his first day in office) would make the identical bone-headed trade?

Cornell U. Official Says He Woud Welcome ISIS, Hamas Onto His Campus

Of course, there's a good chance he might not have said so had he known he was secretly being recorded:
A video sting operation shows Cornell’s assistant dean for students, Joseph Scaffido, agreeing to everything suggested by an undercover muckraker posing as a Moroccan student.
Scaffido casually endorses inviting an ISIS “freedom fighter’’ to conduct a “training camp” for students at the upstate Ithaca campus — bizarrely likening the activity to a sports camp.
Is it OK to bring a humanitarian pro-“Islamic State Iraq and Syria” group on campus, the undercover for conservative activist James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas asks.
Sure, Scaffido says in the recorded March 16 meeting.
Scaffido doesn’t even blink an eye when the undercover asks about providing material support for terrorists — “care packages, whether it be food, water, electronics.”
How about supporting Hamas?
No problem at all, Scaffido said.
“The university is not going to look at different groups and say, ‘You’re not allowed to support that group because we don’t believe them’ or something like that. I think it’s just the opposite. I think the university wants the entire community to understand what’s going on in all parts of the world,” Scaffido said.
Wanna bet he wouldn't have extended the same sort of invitation to Republicans and Zionists?

George Soros, Abject Failure?

In her new biography of that old left-wing moneybags/Zion-loather/control freak George Soros, Anna Porter really wanted to conclude that his having invested gazillions of dollars in "progressive" causes has had a positive--or even any--impact on the world. But, as the Toronto Star's Carol Goar writes, that wasn't Porter's take-away:
...as a biographer, she was hard-headed in her assessment. Liberal democracy is eroding around the world, as corporate values supplant the participation of citizens in national decision-making. Human rights are in decline; autocratic regimes now surpass the number of governments that respect the rule of law, freedom of the press and human rights. The European Union, which Soros worked so hard to foster and sustain, is riven by debt and inequality. The Arab Spring ended in heartbreak. The International Criminal Court has accomplished very little. Even in the realm of mega-giving, Porter could find little evidence that his values had taken root. “Soros’s philosophy is still not taken seriously,” she concluded.
Moreover, his lavish lifestyle, his lack of accountability to anyone but himself and the top-down operation of his foundation have left Soros open to charges of hypocrisy.
Porter concludes sadly that very little of what Soros has built — or bought — in the last 20 years will survive him. Changing humanity is too ambitious a task for even a fabulously wealthy, ideologically driven philanthrocapitalist.
Porter and Goar may be sad about it. I, on the other hand, am not. In fact, I'm delighted that money couldn't buy him what he wants. That said, perhaps Porter is underestimating Soros's influence. After all, his open wallet is at least partially responsible for bringing us Barack H. Obama, the most "progressive" president in American history, and a man whose Sorosian vision has made a real hash of things both at home and abroad.

Islam "Explained" on Global TV

Apparently, it's a really peaceful religion which makes Muslims smile a lot at each other, and there's no jihad in it at all.

Hey, thanks for doing your bit to blow smoke at edumacate us ignorant infidels, Global!

Great Expectations for "Peace" Derailed by Palestinian Sharknado

George Jonas gets it--and then some:
The Arab and Muslim world is guided by ideas and emotions, religious as well as secular, that never got past the Middle Ages. They aren’t the Arab/Muslim world’s only ideas and emotions, of course, but they are the guiding ones. For Israel to trade land for peace in such a climate is, if anything, detrimental to peace. Expecting Palestinians to stop attacking Israel by distributing land to them is like expecting sharks to stop attacking swimmers by pouring blood into the water.
And yet that remains the expectation in the Oval Office. But then, it is clear that, re this particular negotiation, Obama is on the side of the sharks.

ISIS on the Cutting Edge--In Savagery AND Tech-Savviness

As this Fortune piece notes, both have been essential as ISIS builds its "brand":
ISIS has built its strategy using a sharply differentiated and compelling vision of the endgame: a return to the glory days of a Caliphate. En route, it acquires early customers with offers of very basic services in the territories it occupies. Its funding for each new phase is secured by its earlier phases of growth — through extortion, selling electricity and oil from captured power plants and occupied oil fields. ISIS brand-building and recruiting strategy applies lean startup methods that reach global audiences at low cost using a mix of media, including horrific videos, e-magazines and state-of-the-art digital direct mail tactics, replete with over 46,000 affiliated Twitter accounts, with an average of a thousand followers apiece along with smartphone apps.
A Medieval, supremacist mindset backed up by the latest high-tech gadgetry--now, that's a terrifying combo.

A Sudden Death Game With No Overtime

Re Obama's "brackets," Nick Searcy tweeted this:
Hey, what does his Middle East bracket look like? When does he have Israel being eliminated?
I think in Obama's "brackets" Israel's enemies win no matter what.

Update: Obama declares war on Israel

Designed to Make You Hurl--Obama Factotum's Wrap-Up to ZINO* J Streeters

In his peroration to a J Street gathering, Obama's Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough just couldn't resist citing the phrase that makes lefty Jews feel warm 'n' fuzzy 'n' hyper-virtuous:
The challenges I’ve described today aren’t easy—but they aren’t impossible either. As Jewish congregations across the country prayed on Saturday—and I won’t attempt the Hebrew here—He who makes peace in His high places, He shall make peace upon us, and upon all of Israel. But it’s not enough for us to just hope for peace in our world; it’s up to us to make it happen. In my Catholic tradition, when I think about the work ahead of us, I remember the words of St. Augustine. “Pray as though everything depended on God,” he said, “work as though everything depended on you.”
St. Augustine was speaking about the same responsibility that Jewish people know as tikkun olam – our shared duty to heal the world. The problems we face may seem overwhelming, but we push forward. Smart choices, a relentless determination—they can add up to progress. They add up to a world that’s more peaceful and more secure than it was before.
That’s why we’re never going to give up on peace between Israelis and Palestinians. That’s why we’re going to give everything we’ve got to see if we can get a good nuclear deal with Iran. And that’s why our commitment to the security of the Israeli people will never waver.
To recap: Obama wants Israel to return to pre-Six Day War borders as a starting point for negotiations with Abbas (who's in bed with Hamas); believes "peace" between Israel and Palestinians is the key to Middle East stability; is getting set to sell Israel down the river in a horrible nuclear deal with Iran. But, hey, he and McDonough and all the little J Streeters just loooooove them their Israel, right?

Talks is cheap, and when Obama or one of his minions does it you can bank on it being utterly worthless.

With Iran on the Verge of Getting Nukes, Where Have All the "Ban the Bomb" Protesters Gone?

The anti-nuke protesters were rife and high-profile back in the day. But that was a time when "wicked" conservatives Ronald Reagan and Maggie Thatcher were in office, so things were, you know, really scary back then. Today, with The First African-American President, the hyper-virtuous Barack H. Obama in power and sucking up like mad to genocide-minded Shiites with a penchant for enriching uranium, the anti-nuke crowd has made itself remarkably scarce.

Guess they're too busy protesting global climate change and the "unfairness" of one percenters having way too much moolah.

Useful, Semi-Literate Idiot Sez...

"Like with all our other cultures, we need to celebrate the diversity of Muslims, and become active in promoting their culture and join in celebrating their festivals," writes a "purple" Regina chick in her local rag.

Today In Nothing To Do With Islam...

CIA Director says Islamic State represents ''ideology of violence, '' not Islam

Er, he does know about the core Islamic concept of "jihad," doesn't he? It's been in lots and lots of history books, and it's what animates ISIS today.

(Does it seem to you, as it does to me, that Obama and his minions continue to run interference/serve as apologists for Islam? How stupid, dangerous and suicidal!)

Obama's Mysterious Birdman Tried--and Failed--to Defeat Netanyahu

The name's Bird, Jeremy Bird. And now Obama is having one (a bird) because of his failure to derail Bibi:
"What was not well reported in the American media is that President Obama and his allies were playing in the election to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu," John McLaughlin, a Republican strategist, said in an interview on John Catsimatidis's "The Cats Roundtable" radio show broadcast Sunday on AM 970 in New York.
"There was money moving that included taxpayer U.S. dollars, through non-profit organizations. And there were various liberal groups in the United States that were raising millions to fund a campaign called V15 against Prime Minister Netanyahu," McLaughlin said.
He noted an effort to oust Netanyahu was guided by former Obama political operative Jeremy Bird and that V15, or Victory 15, ads hurt Netanyahu in the polls. McLaughlin said the Israeli leader rebounded after delivering a speech to Congress early this month, prompting more critical ads.
Better luck next time, Birdman.

You've Got to Be Carefully Taught to Hate Free Speech

Announcing the North American Muslim Foundation's 14th annual speech competition and dinner:
North American Muslim Foundation would like to invite students from Grade 6-12 to participate in NAMF’s 14th Annual Speech Competition on Saturday April 25th, 2015 at 5 PM. This program is an excellent opportunity to showcase your public speaking, communication and interpersonal skills. Our event serves as a forum for students to present their unique views to a supportive and educated audience. We highly encourage people of all different backgrounds to come out and listen to the creative and well articulated speeches the students will be presenting! Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Update: Ezra Levant sheds light on "moderate" NAMF here. (Gee, do you think the dinner's "Chief Guest" will be Mohamed Elmasri, who was a keynote speaker at a past NAMF event?)

"Mastermind" Artie Erdogan Wields the Cudgel of Jew-Hate Like a Latter Day Hitler

Hitler adored that deranged fabrication, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. It is the document that justified his goal of getting rid of Jewry for the sake of mankind. It makes sense, then, that his heirs, who have his megalomaniacal tendencies, would think to trot out a Protocols sequel:
A Turkish news station aligned with the country’s ruling AKP party recently aired an antisemitic documentary entitled “The Mastermind,” Al-Monitor reported late last week.
The film, described by the publication as a sequel to “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” argued that Turkey had fallen victim to a “Mastermind,” which it identified as the Jews.
According to the report, the film echoed the rhetoric of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who several months ago voiced a theory that Turkey had fallen victim to a “Mastermind.” According to Al-Monitor, A Haber, the “news station” which aired the film, acts “like a propaganda outlet” for Erdogan and his AKP party.
The film claimed that the so-called Mastermind “rules the world, burns, destroys, starves, wages wars, organizes revolutions and coups, and establishes states within states.” It even featured libels about Jewish culture, and blamed the 2003 Iraq war on a Jewish search for the Ark of the Covenant.
Last year, Erdogan denied charges that he was antisemitic, even though he called Israel a “terrorist state” and accused it of “surpassing Hitler in barbarism.”...
I'd be careful with those Hitler comparisons if I were you, Artie. They could end up biting you in the tuches.

Welcome Back, Carter

Re Iran, Obama is channeling his inner Jimmy Carter. The results, writes Myron Magnet (how great is that name?), are bound to be calamitous:
So now President Obama wants to make an agreement that will ensure that Iran can produce an atom bomb essentially overnight. He has not seen fit to explain his reasoning to the American people, and it is hard to imagine what it might be. But all I can think of is Churchill’s rebuke to Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain when he returned from his infamous appeasement of Hitler in Munch in 1938. “You were given the choice between war and dishonor,” Churchill thundered in Parliament. “You chose dishonor, and you will have war.” Certainly President Obama is choosing dishonor. What kind of war he might unleash, the world watches with dread.
Actually, for all his wimpishness, Carter ended up threating Iran with dire consequences should any harm come to those American hostages. One cannot imagine Obama doing something like that.

As for his political choices, Obama always chooses dishonor, as do most "progressives" of his ilk who are convinced they're on the side of angels but who are actually doing some heavy lifting for a more fiery supernatural entity.

All Aboard!: Gaza Obsessives Getting Set to Float Their Risibly-Named "Freedom Flotilla" Once Again

It wouldn't be risible if they were trying to free Gaza from Hamas. But they aren't. These Zion-loathers think Israel alone is the region's bad guy, an idea that belies the facts on the ground (beheadings, ethnic cleansing of Christians, suicide bombings of mosques, destruction of ancient but non-Islamic treasures, hundreds of thousands killed so far in Syria's civil war, Iran on the cusp of nuclear capability, etc., etc., etc.) and that should land these self-righteous loathers in permanent dry dock, and in a padded room.

An image depicting what's inside the fevered minds of Gaza flotillaniks.

Montreal School Run By Alleged Al Qaeda Agent to Remain Open

Gotta love that die-versity, eh?:
MONTREAL — A community college says it has no choice but to let alleged al-Qaida sleeper agent Adil Charkaoui re-open his suspended qur'anic Montreal school after determining it had no legal grounds to shut it down.
One of the five Maisonneuve college students suspected of joining the Islamic State had enrolled in two workshops Charkaoui ran in the school building.
Maisonneuve college announced last month that it had suspended its contract with Charkaoui after his program's website had links to extremist sites and at least one film.
Morocco-born Charkaoui, who recently became a Canadian citizen, denies he radicalized anyone, and he's threatened to sue the east-end school.
At a news conference on Thursday morning, the community college said that after consulting lawyers and the RCMP, it determined that it had to respect its contract with Charkaoui until June...
