S.O.C. (Save Our Ceej)

The impending demise (maybe) of the Ceej has come to the attention of the media. Here, for instance, is the National Post's article about the, er, streamlining (a polite way of saying "you're toast, fellahs"), while the Ottawa Citizen's Andrew Cohen tries to drum up support for the lefty organization on left-wing grounds here:
...But Congress isn't just about Jews. It has championed human rights and social justice, from the creation of the Ontario Human Rights Code to opposing the ban on minarets in Switzerland to protesting genocide in Darfur and Rwanda. It has made alliances with unions and the church. It has embraced the rights of women, homosexuals, aboriginals and the Roma, and reliably solicited aid for natural disasters around the world.

It has fought anti-Semitism everywhere with a nuance unknown to the blustering B'nai Brith, which lacks credibility.

Does every Canadian Jew agree with the Canadian Jewish Congress? Of course not. At root, though, it is an instrument of good in Canada. Only fools and amnesiacs would dissolve it.
There are tons of good reasons to dissolve the Ceej. Now, if only I could remember what they were...

  1. ok, Scaramouche. I'll bite.

Andrew says: "Only fools and amnesiacs would dissolve it."

Like the Ceej, Andrew is a pompous self-aggrandizing, smug, ineffectual, ineffective, self-serving, vain windbag that has the audacity and hubris to put out this tripe that's so divorced from reality, it's Bizzaro World.

Fact is, the Ceej, over the past decade has alone, bankrupted it's original values in order to promote the junk science of social engineering, (like eugenics a hundred years ago), as a cure all society's ills.

Unlike their American counter-parts who don't take shit from anybody, the Ceej, (and Bnai Brith for that matter) are just good at eating shit even while they aggressively promote the denial of basic individual freedoms that this country has given us all as a fundamental right.

Oh, and let's not forget that IAW was born and bred right under their noses. (I would argue as a direct result of their inherent effete stupidity, duly recognized by IAW promoters.)

  2. Lest we forget, the Ceej also brought us state censorship, of which it was (and remains)a huge promoter. Of all its imbecilities, that, I think, is the biggest--and the most unforgivable.
