My father loved her recordings, especially the Spanish-language ones; we had many of her records at home, when I was growing up. (She spoke--and sang--perfect, almost perfectly unaccented Latin American Spanish, as one would expect of someone who once was a simultaneous translator of English to/from Spanish at the U. N.; as a child I thought for a long time that she _was_ Latin American.)
