RALLY FOR DIVERSITY Writer and activist Desmond Cole and El-Farouk Khaki of Masjid el-Tawhid mosque headline Keep Toronto Hate Free day of action in support of diversity at Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday (June 3). All are welcome to the event coordinated by the Organizing Committee Against Islamophobia dedicated to pluralism, positivity and peace. 10 am-2 pm. 100 Queen West.The hilarious thing here is that El-Farouk Khaki is a queer Muslim--and everyone knows how homophobic by-the-book Islam is (and how it is dedicated to supremacism and not to pluralism, positivity and peace).
Also, Khaki's sort of diversity/anti-hate efforts do not extend to those of the Zionist persuasion. In fact, Khaki, as we learn from his Wiki page, is a purveyor of one of the biggest--and ugliest--of today's Big Lies:

On May 23, 2009, Khaki made the opening remarks at a Queers Against Israeli Apartheid event to "reignite Toronto’s queer community in the fight against apartheid".[22]
Shortly after, B'nai Brith condemned him and implied that he is "part and parcel of the anti-Israel machinery that continues to churn out hateful and divisive propaganda."[16]
B'nai Brith executive vice-president Frank Dimant said Khaki should be subject to "disciplinary action" by Pride Toronto.
In response, Khaki with his partner Troy Jackson formed the Human Positive foundation, an organization which goal is "Justice, Freedom and Dignity for All peoples " and rejects the idea that criticism of the government of Israel is equivalent to anti-Semitism.And I reject the idea that the Rally for Diversity is anything more than an event meant to engender warm 'n' fuzzy feelings toward Islam.
As well, I have serious concerns about the Organizing Committee Against Islamophobia, which appears to be a Communist/Islamist outfit (see this and this).
