A Whole 'Nother Kind of 'Global Warming'

There once was a saviour named Gore
Who hit upon women galore.
When asked about Tipper
Said, "I'd just as soon skip her;
It's masseuses and skanks I adore."

And I'm Not One of Them

Half a billion people are now on Facebook.

Latest Unemployment Stat

Munir Sheikh (Jewish fellow, eh?), the head of StatsCanada has up and resigned. Sheikh, who is described as a "long time bureaucrat," is furious that the government has decided to go with a voluntary census instead of a mandatory one. You can see the letter he wrote to the media announcing his resignation here. (Don't forget to read the, ahem, colourful comments following the linked Ceeb story. Seems Ceebers are as outraged as Sheikh, and are thrilled that this man of principle has stuck it to the Harper "thugs"--a word actually used by one of the gleeful pro-Statists.)

Et Tu, Tutu?

Desmond Tutu says Barack Obama isn't doing as much Dubya did re the AIDS problem in Africa.

Ouch!

How Canadian Law Resembles Sharia Law

Under the terms of sharia law, some people (Muslims, Muslim males) are more equal than other people (women, infidels). Under the terms of Canadian law, same thing. From canoe.ca:
OTTAWA - A stay-at-home mother trying to re-enter the workforce after nine years away says she can’t understand why the federal government would stop her from applying for a job simply because she is white.
Sara Landriault, a sometime family activist, says that with her kids in school full time she decided to start looking for work outside of the home.
While surfing on the federal government job website, Landriault says she found a position at Citizenship and Immigration Canada she felt she was qualified for but was blocked from submitting her resume because she was not an aboriginal or visible minority.

“I was flabbergasted,” Landriault said in a telephone interview from her home in Kemptville, Ont., just south of Ottawa. “It was insane. I’m white, so I can’t do it?”

Landriault says she has seen job postings in the past that encourage certain groups to apply.

“Which is fine, it’s an equal opportunity position,” Landriault said. “But an equal opportunity employer does not stop one race from applying.”

A CIC spokeswoman takes a different view.

“We are under-represented by aboriginal employees in our work force,” said Melanie Carkner. “At this point in time, the department does meet requirements for visible minorities; however, given the department’s mandate, we make a concerted effort to hire individuals in this group.”

The Employment Equity Act, first introduced by the Mulroney government in 1986 and updated by the Chretien government in 1995, allows for certain groups to be favoured when it comes to hiring.
Guess if they'd called it what it really is--The Employment Inequity Act--it would have been much harder for people to swallow.

Can We Ride the Allahakbar Roller Coaster and Visit the Pigs and Monkeys House Again Mommy?

Hezboland--like Disneyland, only with genocide:
Despite its militant edge, the museum is part of an effort to soften Hezbollah's image. It's designed to be the centerpiece of a massive tourist development - dubbed "HezbollahLand" in the global press – capped with an aerial tramway offering scenic rides from Mleeta to an abandoned Israeli base on a nearby hill.
'Tourism Jihad' Locks in Loyalty
"We're going to build motels, playgrounds, camping areas, even spas or swimming pools so that all of the visitors -- especially our people -- can come here and spend their weekends or vacations, no need to worry about heavy financial duties," said Rami.
"Here is another showing of our loyalty to these people by letting them come close to us and get to know a little bit more about our function and about our secrets," he said.
That, analysts say, is where the museum fits into Hezbollah's overarching strategy: fighting Israel in times of war, and in times of peace, investing in ways that seal a bond with its followers. Hezbollah runs hospitals and builds homes, partly under the umbrella of its "Construction Jihad" – hardening its constituents by giving them a social safety net and improving their quality of life.
Bread and circuses: works every time. On the plus side: Hezbo's Resistance Museum sounds like a whole lot more fun than Canada's "Human Rights" Mausoleum.

Dutch Treat

Thanks, Holland, for doing your part to help an Islamic edifice rise at Ground Zero. Much appreciated.

Halal/Haram

To review: coffee that comes from civet poopy--halal. Alcohol, blood and dogs (among other things)--haram.

Loose Cannon

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister thinks there's much to be gained by--wait for it--talking with the Taliban ("If they should ask, "Do you like the caliphate?/Say for the helluvit, "It's grand!" ). From the Toronto Star:
OTTAWA—The Taliban has an important role to play in mapping out the future of Afghanistan, Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon said Tuesday.
The Conservative government has been reluctant to include the Taliban leaders in potential talks but the growing lack of security in the war-torn countries has caused a few countries to rethink their positions.
“If you look at any conflict that has taken place and has been resolved in a positive manner . . . there has always been a consultation and reintegration process, so it is extremely important that that indeed be part of the ongoing quest toward transition,” Cannon told reporters in a teleconference from Dubai after attending an international meeting of military and political leaders in Kabul.
Earlier in Kabul Cannon said “we encourage a reconciliation process that is inclusive of all Afghans, no matter their ethnicity, tribe or gender” but later said “it is extremely important that the Taliban and the insurgency put down their arms and that they abide by the constitution of Afghanistan as well as the international agreements that Afghanistan has entered (into) over the last couple of years.”...
"Inclusiveness," "diversity," "reconciliation": yeah, that infidel candy floss should make a lot of headway with totalitarian supremacists waging jihad for the glory of Allah and the global application of Islam's rules.

Update: Yoo hoo, Larry. Here are some words of advice from a guy who, unlike you, gets it:

There is no winning of Afghan hearts and minds. They are Muslims and we are Infidels. A handful of people may wish to cooperate with us, may sense that we wish them well, and are far more to be trusted than the sinister Pakistanis, but these people cannot possibly influence the mass of primitive Muslims who will always see us as what, in fact, we are - Infidels. That puts a limit, a very low limit, on any collaboration beyond temporary overlaps of self-interest. Money will not do it.

Hitch's Poisonous Obsession

Notorious God-loather Christopher Hitchens has figured out why Mel Gibson is such a raving lunatic--and it has little to do with his being a spoiled, alcoholic Hollywood actor with an overweening sense of entitlement whose life went off the rails following the collapse of the decades-long marriage that had served as a stabilizing influence in his life.

It never occurs to Hitch, of course, that for many, many aimless, messed-up and out-of-control souls, religion is the thing that enables them at long last to straighten up and fly right (i.e. that rather than "poisoning everything," faith--the good kind--can enhance and fulfill one's life).

Jews Play Whack-a-Mole With Hater Hossain

I'm sure you'll be relieved to know that Salman Hossain, formerly one of the strands in our vibrant multiculti kilim, currently Allah-knows-where (but suspected to be back home in his native Bangladesh) will no longer be able to post his genocidal insights re the Jews on his zestily-named website Filthy Jewish Terrorists. Trouble is, as Stewart Bell reports this morning, as soon as the Jews shut down one site, another quickly pops up in its place:
In his final post before the site went offline, Mr. Hossain wrote that "the Jews" were pressuring Go Daddy to take down his website but that he was in the process of moving it to another site, which used the same URL but with a different domain. "Like I stated earlier, it makes very little difference if they try and take down the server as I am moving it to another country's server where it will be much more difficult to take down and where they really and truly hate Jews."
But the National Post was able to locate that new server in Carlow, Ireland. Contacted by the Post, the Web-hosting company, Blacknight, quickly cancelled its agreement with Mr. Hossain's new website.
Oh well. No doubt the fellow who describes himself as "a regular Muslim supporting the jihad overseas" will find another outlet for his views which, all in all, are in line with much of the thinking in the Muslim world, even if Bernie Farber vows to be "a thorn in his side".
