It's Startling to Read an Honest Truth About Multiculti and Islam Expressed in The Ottawa Citizen
It's this one:
As theologian Mark Durie observes: Islam “classically demands a political realization, and specifically one in which Islam rules over all other religions, ideologies and competing political visions. Islam is not unique in having a political vision or speaking to politics, but it is unique in demanding that it alone must rule the political sphere … Not all Muslims are seeking to implement this vision, but many are.”
In other words, offending people (including Muslims) is a necessary, if insufficient, condition for freedom in a multicultural society.
Obama's Very Busy Day
1. He gives Russia's rapacious autocrat a fairly tepid what-for.
2. He trades wisecracks about selfies and O-Care with the host of the Ellen DeGeneres Show, thereby seriously undercutting #1.

Hillary Clinton's Speech to American Jews Shows That "Table"-Wise, History Repeats
As the Holocaust was unfolding, American Jews were counseled to hold their water and their tongues--i.e. "sha shtill."
As the Grandiose Ayatollah puts the finishing touches on his nuclear weapons program, same old, same old:
You know, in the same way that the option to bomb the train tracks leading to Auschwitz remained on the table--and never went anywhere else--when FDR was in charge.
As the Grandiose Ayatollah puts the finishing touches on his nuclear weapons program, same old, same old:
Clinton reiterated her support for the Obama administration’s stance that Congress should refrain from imposing new sanctions on Iran while nuclear talks are underway.
“If the world judges, fairly or unfairly, that negotiations have collapsed because of actions by our Congress, even some of our closest partners will falter,” Clinton said.
She said that if diplomacy ultimately fails, “then we can always — and we will — put on additional sanctions. And we will have the international support necessary to ensure enforcement. And, yes, we will explore every other option. And let’s be clear, every other option does remain on the table.”And let's be clear, every other option does remain on the table, and if Iran hasn't yet snuffed Israel by the time she's in office, you can be sure that under President Hillary (shudder), "on the table" is exactly where the options shall remain.
You know, in the same way that the option to bomb the train tracks leading to Auschwitz remained on the table--and never went anywhere else--when FDR was in charge.
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne's Euphemism for "We're Broke as Can Be, But So What?"
It's "aspirational," and it's insane.
Update: Please give it up for the vocal mewlings of Preem 'Leen!:
Call it "aspirational."
Call it "conservational."
Say that it's "salvational," too.
Do my foolish moves leave you skint-y?
Well, I'm really "clever"--
Just like McGuinty.
Call it "aspirational"
(Tho' it's catastrophical).
Wind sticks, I've been building a few.
Call it "affirmational,"
Yes, that's euphemistical,
And it's so intrinsic'ly true
That Wynne means devastation
For you.

Thomas L. Friedman's Utopian Hopes in These Days of Vladimir Putin, Rampant and Unleashed
The NYT's "deep thinker" types up his wish list:
And, of course, peace in the Middle East.
That's not too much to ask for, right?

Update: When it comes to America's decline, Putin and Obama are on the identical page.
I want America to lead in developing an energy policy that will weaken the oil-and-gas-autocracy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and, as a byproduct, produce the technologies that will mitigate climate change, make America a global technology and moral leader and ensure that the next generation can thrive here on Earth.I have a wish list too, and I think mine is more doable. I would like to be an alchemist so I can transform common household items--say, like tinfoil and bobby pins--into gold. Also, a tad less cellulite in the old adipose tissue, please. Oh, and a world full of lots and lots of cuddly baby animals, 'cuz they're so gosh-darned adorable and make everyone feel good.
And, of course, peace in the Middle East.
