Peace Be Upon Him

The Norwegians are said to be miffed at Obama. Here they've gone out of their way to recognize his "peace" efforts, and--go figure--the dude stiffs them. According to the Beeb, instead of the normal three day celebration
Mr Obama will spend only 24 hours in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, because of his busy schedule.
He is due to meet the Norwegian prime minister but has turned down an invitation to have lunch with the king.

Nor will he be attending the Nobel concert, a children's event or giving a full press conference.
No concert or children's event, huh? Anyone else get the idea that the soiree is meant more for them than for him?

In honour of Obama's well-deserved award (those first 11 days in office--the cut-off date for his nomination--were awesome!) here's a reworking of one of my favourite (though lesser-known) seasonal songs:
Mister Obama

Has caused quite a drama
‘Cuz he’s a phenom’na--
A one of a kind
Everybody’s
Waitin’ for the man with the gab.
It’s prize-givin’ time there again.

He’s got a headful
Of ideas so dreadful.
Stuff that’ll bankrupt the country they say.
Everybody’s
Waitin for the man with the gab.
It’s prize-givin’ time there again.

He’ll be there
With the answer to their prayers
That America’ll fall into line.
Climate scares
Will do everything they can
To get that carbon ban.
He’ll make this December
One to remember
‘Cause he gets a prize
For doin’ nothin’ at all.
Everybody’s
Waitin for the man with the gab.
It’s prize-givin’ time there again…
