Far be it from me to be hyper-sensitive to intimations of antisemitism, but when a judge hearing a case between two Jews--one a cardiologist, the other a matchmaker who failed to find him a spouse, but who wants to keep her fee nonetheless--disses both sides because he says they are seeking their "pound of flesh," the Judenhass alarm bells go off. I highly doubt the judge would have brought in that particular--and particularly offensive--literary reference had the case involved, say, two Chinese people.
