Selected Bollocks from Citizenship and Immigration Canada

Poking around the C&I website, I came across a number of gobsmacking items.

From this:
Compared to other countries, Canada has been less affected by the global surge in anti-Muslim sentiments and by the resulting polarization of ethnic relations. According to a survey conducted by Focus Canada in 2006, 83% of Canadians agree that Muslims make a positive contribution to Canada (Focus Canada 2006). International polls reveal that Muslims in Canada are less likely than Muslims in other countries to believe that their co-citizens are hostile to them. Moreover, Muslims have the same level of pride in Canada as other immigrants, and indeed are more likely than native-born Canadians to believe that the country is moving in the right direction: 91% of Muslims said this, compared to 71% of the general population (Adams 2007).
From this:

In October 2008, for example, a delegation of young diplomats from the Middle East (12 Egyptians and two from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco and Palestine) came to the National Capital Region to learn about Canada’s approach to diversity and related issues. This delegation was hosted by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the Citizenship and Multiculturalism Branch was asked to deliver a presentation. Along with the Department of Canadian Heritage, CIC presented Canada’s multiculturalism and diversity approach and had an active and engaging discussion with the delegation.
From this:
At the auction, UNHCR Syria Representative Renata Dubini thanked the [Canadian] Embassy  [in Syria] for its support of the [art] event and recognized Canada’s work in protecting some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
In 2009, Canada plans to resettle 3,900 Iraqi refugees, representing one third of Canada’s global resettlement target. Canada will maintain this level of resettlement until at least 2011, which will mean some 12,000 Iraqi refugees will be resettled over three years.
I had always considered Jason Kenney to be one cabinet minister who "gets it," but after reading this sort of stuff, I'm not so sure.

Good catch! I like Kenny, he does some good stuff but clearly needs to do some house cleaning. JMO

Problem is that even with Conservatives ostensibly in charge, the silly service is in the hands of the lefties.

Just watching Nancy Wilson on CBC Newworld and she's really cheery about what's going on in Egypt. They really think peace, democracy and freedom will come of this. Now the "new" pretty is being joined by the "less new" Anne McMillan in London. Nary a comment by these ladies about how segregated Male/female these riots are. Guess women won't have any say when it's over either. Very blonde of these commentators.

Well I opened the first link. I only read a little down to what I wanted to know which was that 'Focus Canada' was an Environics poll. IMO the last two silly servants who edited this monstrosity should be axed immediately and the higher up who signed the cheque to Environics should be made to sweep floors till his pension time. They say they can't cut budgets in wide areas like Healthcare, Social Assistance, etc, but if every time they saw waste in small increments we could end up once again with a civil service of polite, helpful servants of the governement and people.

So back to the Curan Curtain where it will be theocracy and religious police. Muslims will be accusing others of being Kaffirs and not Islamic enough. We could see some of this in a micro level tonight as I expect Tarek Fatah to get no support. Anyone going?
