Saudi Arabia is reluctant to host talks between the Karzai regime and the Taliban because it suspects that the latter maintains ties to Al Qaeda, an outfit that has vowed to bring down the Family Saud, the unholy rascals in charge of Islam's most sacred sites.
To borrow a cliche/sentence structure from a famed economic sage, when Wahhabis who pay big bucks to send their wacky doctrines to mosques and madrassahs around the globe have a problem with your brand of extremism, it's generally not a good sign.
Update: Taliban--new and improved? Not so much.
Update: Taliban convinced they'll be back on top once the U.S. vamooses.
