Eco-paganism, the worship of nature, is a religion that's both atavistic and cutting edge:
HALTON — Greening Sacred Spaces, an interfaith, multicultural organization that focuses on eco-sustainability, is partnering with the University of Toronto and Credit Valley Conservation to host the free "Religion Revealed in Nature" retreat.
The day-long retreat, to be held at Terra Cotta Conservation Area on Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., aims to educate guests on eco-spirituality in different religious traditions.
Through various presentations and activities, the retreat will include faith representatives, music, meditation, yoga, an eco-spiritual walk and prayers.
The event is geared towards young adults between the ages of 16-35, however all interested are welcome to attend.
Transportation from University of Toronto Mississauga campus is available. Space is limited.

For I have learned
To look on nature, not as in the hour
Of thoughtless youth; but hearing oftentimes
The still, sad music of humanity,
Nor harsh nor grating, though of ample power
To chasten and subdue. And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns,
And the round ocean and the living air,
And the blue sky, and in the mind of man...
