Jihadi Tries to Censor Danish 'Toonist--Permanently

Police is Denmark shot a Somali jihadi as he was trying to break into the home of Kurt Westergaard, the cartoonist who raised the ire of sensitive jihadis far and wide when, insolent kafir that he is, he drew that turban-bomb 'toon. From the Telegraph:
...Mr Westergaard was there with a five-year-old granddaughter when the attacker tried to get in.

"I locked myself in our safe room. He tried to smash the entrance door with an axe," he said.

He said that the assailant shouted "revenge" and "blood" as he tried to enter the bathroom where Mr Westergaard and the child had sought shelter.

"My grandchild did fine," he said. "It was scary. It was close. Really close. But we did it."

Officers arrived two minutes later and tried to arrest the assailant, who wielded an axe at a police officer. One officer then shot the man in a knee and a hand, authorities said. Nielsen said the suspect was admitted to hospital but his life was not in danger.

Mr Westergaard was said to be "quite shocked" but was not injured.

Jakob Scharf, who heads the Danish intelligence service, PET, said the attack was "terror related"...

Nuh uh. It was jihad-related. Terror was--is--merely the tactic employed in pursuit of a global caliphate that will enforce sharia law.

Mail Call

The Toronto Star prints the following cri de coeur re the "tragic politicization of anti-Semitism" by one Roger Langen of Toronto:
Thanks for publishing the text of Jason Kenney's speech to the anti-Semitism forum in Jerusalem. Its dissimulating and low-minded character have been much-noted.

By conflating Israel with Judaism, Kenney turns the whole world anti-Semitic. Even Irwin Cotler, his Liberal ally on the Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Anti-Semitism, is anti-Semitic, or so Kenney alleges when he is plotting election strategy. By tagging KAIROS and the Canadian Arab Federation with the same smear, he attacks the human rights observer. It's a handy epithet, this "new anti-Semitism."

It's also anti-Semitic. It hides real anti-Semitism and offers a profound insult to victims and survivors of the Holocaust. The racialization of Israel to protect it from criticism denies Israel the right to be treated as an equal among nations; it conceives Israel as a nation or "people apart." Essentialized and separated in this way, why wouldn't Israel engage in separation practices (racism, apartheid) itself?

Using the "new anti-Semitism," the CPCCA's intent is political: to demonize Iran, censor or criminalize campus debates, and shield Israel from legitimate human rights observation. Colombia's Alvaro Uribe or Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe should be so lucky.

But how tragic that the politicization of anti-Semitism now divides and renders vulnerable Jewish communities worldwide. Jason Kenney and his supporters need to take a hard look at themselves.
My response:
Roger Langen contends that “the politicization of anti-Semitism” is “tragic.” I completely agree with him--but not in the way he means. It was tragic when Czarist police fabricated a document called “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” which offered “proof” that Jews were conspiring to control the world--a “politicization” intended to boost support for the Czar. And it was also tragic when Adolf Hitler gave credence to this ridiculous screed, and used it to justify his megalomania and the extermination of the Jewish people--another clear “politicization” of anti-Semitism. By the same token, when those who, for “political”/ideological reasons single out the world’s lone Jewish state for opprobrium, slander it as being an “apartheid” regime, hold it to standards which aren’t required of other nations, and do so under the banner of “human rights” even as they ignore and/or minimize the egregious human rights abridgments occurring in other parts of the world--that, too, is tragic.

While is true that not all criticism of Israel is “anti-Semitic,” it is also true that throughout history “the Longest Hatred” has always adapted--or, more accurately, mutated, since Jew-hatred appears to be encoded in humanity’s DNA--to the changing circumstances of the Jewish people. Thus, the obsessive, irrational hatred which, in the past would have affixed itself to the “wandering” Jewish people, today gloms onto the “settled” Jewish state. Were Israel to disappear tomorrow (God forbid), Jew-hate would no doubt mutate once again, another variation on the same old, ugly theme.

Let’s hope it never comes to that, but with all the eager beavers--some well-meaning, others clearly malign--working so hard to “save” the world from Israel, it remains a distinct possibility.

Charles Krauthammer Hits One Out of the Park

"The reason the country is uneasy about the Obama administration’s response to this attack is a distinct sense of not just incompetence but incomprehension. From the very beginning, President Obama has relentlessly tried to downplay and deny the nature of the terrorist threat we continue to face. Napolitano renames terrorism “man-caused disasters.” Obama goes abroad and pledges to cleanse America of its post-9/11 counterterrorist sins. Hence, Guantanamo will close, CIA interrogators will face a special prosecutor, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed will bask in a civilian trial in New York — a trifecta of political correctness and image management."

Read it all, for 'tis wonderful.

'Most Read News' on Arab Times Site

Today's exciting line-up (and, no, I'm not making this up) includes: Sex with dog; Run away maid; Cops rape three ladies in custody; Two boys attempt to rape Filipina maid after seeing porn film; Kuwaiti youth, Filipina maid caught 'nude' in SUV; seven women detained for immoral activities; Porn CDs, liquor found with Bangladeshi man, Srilankan woman at checkpoint; and (this one may be my favourite) Woman nabbed for chewing gum on the first day of Ramadan.

Who says they don't know how to have fun over in Kuwait? (It occurs to me that the man found coupling with the dog may have done so only because he failed to locate a Filipina maid.)

Danish Mosque Plans Stymied By Expense of Infidel Real Estate

From Islam Online:
CAIRO – The lack of funding is hindering Danish Muslims' dream of the first Sunni mosque in the capital Copenhagen.
"Lack of funding is hampering our efforts to buy a plot of land in Copenhagen to build our mosque," Abdel-Hamid Al-Hamdi, chairman of the Islamic Council of Denmark, told IslamOnline.net over the phone.
Copenhagen city council agreed in 2006 to allow Muslims to build their first mosque in the capital.
"The city council offered 12 plots of land for Muslims to pick up one to build the mosque," Al-Hamdi recalls.
Muslim leaders chose a 5,000-cubic-meter piece adjacent to two Muslim-populated areas of the capital worth nearly $5 million.

Funding is also standing as a stumbling bloc for building a mosque in Arhus, Denmark’s second-largest city.

"Muslims are unable to fund the mosque construction as lands in Denmark are the most expensive in the world," notes Sheikh Radwan Mansour, the head of the Arhus Cultural Society.
In 2006, the city council agreed to allow Muslims to build a mosque in the city, but the dream has since not come true.
Denmark has a Muslim minority of nearly 250,000 out of its 5.4 million-strong population.
Islam is the country's second largest religion after the state-run Lutheran Protestant Church...
Ah, yes--number two. The Avis of religions. And therefore always trying that much harder.

Sounds to me like someone's looking for a handout (from Wahhabis with deep pockets, perhaps?) to get construction in 'Toonland back on track.

I venture that's how this story might be spun by the conspiracy minded.

Like Shooting Fish in a Barrel

Some CIA personnel in Afghanistan invited an amiable fellow in for a chat without frisking him first (wouldn't want him to think they didn't trust him--you'll never win hearts and minds that way). Now they're all dead. From the Ceeb:

The suicide bomber who killed seven CIA employees and wounded six others at an agency base in Afghanistan had been invited in and was not searched, former U.S. officials told The Associated Press Thursday.

Officials at U.S. Forward Operating Base Chapman, a CIA surveillance and intelligence post near Khost City in eastern Afghanistan, had been interested in using the man as an informant, according to the officials.

The region around the base is a hotbed of Taliban and insurgent activity because of its proximity to Pakistan's lawless tribal region. A senior CIA debriefer had apparently come from Kabul to meet with the man, the officials said.

The former officials familiar with Wednesday's attack spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The CIA would not confirm the details, and said it was still investigating...

"It's far too early to draw conclusions about something that happened just yesterday," said spokesperson George Little...
Yeah, it wouldn't be right to rush to judgement about a jihadi's true intentions and the imbecility of those who won't take even the minimal precautions necessary to ensure their own safety. It may take authorities weeks--months, even--to suss out the obvious.

Zionhass Makes Strange Bedfellows

Take the ant-Zionist Nuttery Karta--please. From the Washington Post:
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- A small group of ultra-Orthodox Jews were preparing Friday to celebrate the Jewish Sabbath in Gaza, in an unlikely show of support for Palestinians in the Hamas-run coastal territory.
Bearded and wearing black hats and coats, the four members of a tiny Jewish group vehemently opposed to Israel's existence were a rare sight in the poverty-stricken Palestinian territory.
Members of the Neturei Karta group have expressed support for the Iranian regime and for others who oppose the Jewish state, which they believe was established in violation of Jewish law. They made a similar visit to Gaza last year.
"It's crucial that the people of Gaza understand the terrible tragedy here is not in the name of Judaism," said one of the men, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss of New York City, as the four prepared to observe the Sabbath at a Gaza City hotel.
Gaza is still recovering from Israel's devastating military offensive a year ago, which was aimed at halting rocket fire from the territory. Thirteen Israelis and almost 1,400 Gazans were killed in the three-week war.
The four men are American and Canadian citizens. Israel bans its citizens from visiting the blockaded territory. Weiss and his comrades entered Gaza through a border crossing with Egypt.

Neturei Karta, Aramaic for "Guardians of the City," was founded seven decades ago in Jerusalem by Jews who opposed the drive to establish the state of Israel, believing only the Messiah could do that.
Considered marginal even among ultra-Orthodox Jews, the group's size is estimated at between a few hundred to a few thousand people...
Even so, for obvious reasons they are beloved by Code Pink harridans, Shia genocidaires and other eliminationist-minded enemies of the civilized world, who trot them out for photo ops every chance they get.

I've always said you can tell a lot about people by the company they keep, and these nutjobs have been keeping some mighty disreputable company.

Hashemite Chutzpah

It really irks Arabs that the Jewish claim to Israel dates all the way back to biblical times. So much so that Israel's enemies (the so-called "moderate" Hashemite kingdom) has asked the Canadian government to "seize" the Dead Sea Scrolls, currently on display at Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum, until the international community can resolve their "disputed" ownership. But since the government of Canada is squarely on the side of democratic Israel and has no problem telling the Jew-loathing internationalistas to take a hike, the request is falling on deaf ears. However, as the Globe and Mail reports,
Even if Canada ignores the request, it will make other countries think twice before accepting the controversial exhibit.
In other words, this is really a strong arm tactic meant to undermine Israel's legitimacy and demonstrate dhimmi timorousness in the face of Islamic bravado--and there's little reason to believe it won't have the desired effect.

Update: Don't look now, but you-know-who are laying claim to Jesus, too.
