Renewed Anti-Jew Spew--Now, What Will the Province Do?

A U of T student of Bangladeshi origin who has some, shall we say, colourful views about "the Jews" has renewed spewing his sewage. The first time he expressed his thoughts, police looked the other way, and provincial authorities who are livid when, say, a white power dude has anything hateful to say and make sure to haul his keester to court, pronto, strung along Official Jewry with promises to "streamline" the "process" so that next time, for sure, no doubt about it, just you wait 'n' see, hateful Muslim dude will be treated exactly the same as hateful white power dude.

Well, it seems that time is nigh. Let's see how swiftly the province comes through on its promise, now that the "process" has been "streamlined" and all. I say don't hold your breath--not unless you're interested in suffocating to death, that is.

(To be clear, I'm not really in favour of anyone being prosecuted for "hate speech." I would point out--and deplore--however, the double standard in our society; how authorities who freak out when, say, a swastika is scrawled on some wall tend to be awfully blasé when Muslims are doing their "Jews are monkeys and pigs" trash talk.)

Who Was That Masked Chick?

Hard to say who she was, since she wouldn't remove her mask. An outraged Islam Online has the story of a contretemps between kafirs and a Muslima in Quebec (my bolds):

CAIRO — A Canadian government decision to expel a Muslim student from a school for refusing to remove her niqab (face-veil) angered the sizable Muslim minority which considered the move discriminatory.

"To deny a person the chance of integration just because they follow what they believe is correct for them is wrong," Salam Elmenyawi, president of the Muslim Council of Montreal, told the Montreal Gazette on Wednesday, March 3.

Quebec's human rights commission is considering a case by a Muslim student who was expelled from Saint Laurent school in Montreal for wearing niqab.

The girl, whose identity remains a mystery, was studying French as a part of a government-sponsored integration program.

Elmenyawi insists that the issue could have been solved quietly through negotiation.

"It's this idea of manufacturing cases of hysteria over reasonable accommodation," he said, slamming the decision as discriminatory.

"I've been personally consulted by Concordia and other universities in cases like this, and have always been able to find a solution."

While hijab is an obligatory code of dress for Muslim women, the majority of Muslim scholars agree that a woman is not obliged to wear the face-veil.

Scholars believe it is up to women to decide whether or not to cover their faces...

Riiight. And there's never any coercion from male relatives who might, say, kill her for flouting their authority and deciding to truly "intergrate" by not covering up.

Can't wait for the Quebec "human rights" outfit to weigh in on the matter. No doubt it will lay down the law (the ideologically-driven infidel law which, in this case at least, seems to dovetail quite nicely with sharia) and abjure the "discrimination".

Update: The Montreal Gazette fills in some of the gaps that Islam Online leaves out:

...Fortin said Immigration Department officials did their best to accommodate the needs of the woman, who began language classes in late August and was expelled at the beginning of November.

She initially agreed to remove her niqab when meeting with a female student adviser and when posing for her school ID card. She also agreed to receive some instruction without the niqab from a female teacher in an isolated area of the school.

The teacher allowed her to give an oral presentation at the back of the classroom, facing away from other students. She complained that some male students could still see her face, however, and asked that they be moved to a different part of the classroom.

Her demands created a tense atmosphere and caused problems at the school, Fortin said.

The student was the only one expelled over the issue among 39,000 who took the French course last year...

There's "reasonable accommodation" and then there's "my way or the highway, kafir." It's clear which one was manifest in this instance.

Howard Rotberg, who has two degrees from the University of Toronto, has returned them in disgust due to the university's hosting the annual Hate Israel Week. What follows is from the letter he sent to David Naylor, U of T honcho:

...We have now reached a stage where Jewish students and others identifiably Jewish fear for their safety at various universities in North America and Europe, and where various Jewish speakers are denied permission to speak because of Islamist intimidation. We have now reached a situation where various student groups, such as the Muslim Students Association are being funded by radical Islamist groups, and where various University departments across the “free world” are becoming beholden to radical Islam due to financial funding from Saudi Arabia and the Emirates.

I am sure you have read how young Muslim students are being “radicalized” at universities in England, and such was the case with the attempted terror attacker on the Delta airlines jet on Christmas Day.

The situation at English universities and even at York University has gotten out of hand. To the extent that your views are infused with cultural and moral relativism, I suggest that the University of Toronto is poised to eventually join those institutions where Jewish students will be viewed as “offensive” per se to Muslim students and other illiberal antagonists who apply double standards and factually incorrect legal and historical judgments against the Jewish State, and interpret Islam as holding Jews and Christians to be second class citizens, which is the real apartheid that your University will not allow to be discussed. Moral equivalency is not appropriate between liberal democrats and terror supporting illiberals.

I feel such shame to have been associated with a University that feels that its facilities must be given to those who would destroy our freedoms, and one which fails to understand that tolerance is a two-way concept. Your moral equivalency is misplaced. Israel is the first front in a war that has already come to our shores. That war has nothing to do with “sharing” land, but is about an attempt to enforce Western submission to Islamic values, including Sharia Law.

I have recently written a book called TOLERism: The Ideology Revealed. You might be interested in reading it, although I must warn you that while Chapters Indigo carries 8 different titles by or about Noam Chomsky, my works have been banned by Canada’s monopoly book retailer because they are “offensive” to illiberals.

My grandparents and aunt were gassed to death in the gas chambers of Auschwitz and my father was slave labour there and barely survived. For years, I felt that it was possible as a Jew to attend the University of Toronto and still publically adhere to the biblical value of justice. Unfortunately, in your quest for “tolerance” you have abnegated the historical values of our country, based on Justice being a more important value than Tolerance. My father and his family were certainly not helped by “Tolerance” and I dare say that a continuation of the trends at your university will make it impossible for my grandchildren to attend there. My daughter has two degrees from University of Toronto and my son-in-law has three degrees from U. of T. I believe that if present trends continue, no further members of my family will be able to attend University of Toronto. By abnegating all standards in the name of freedom and tolerance, and by failing to stand for Justice over Tolerance, you are party to the decline of a once-great university.

Please take me off all mailing lists for University of Toronto, University College, and the Faculty of Law, whether it be for financial solicitations, reports or magazines.

I am removing from my office wall my two degrees from University of Toronto. I shall be mailing them back to you.

Would that other Jews were inspired by his actions to not only return their degrees, but to decline to financially support the university until the filthy hate-fate, an ugly stain on an august institution's reputation, has been given the old heave-ho.

Apartheid Lies

The WaPo's Rogers Cohen gets its mostly right about the "apartheid" smear and why Israel's, er, "critics" continue to run with it (H/T MK):

...Israel's critics continue to hurl the apartheid epithet at the state when they have to know, or they ought to know, that it is a calumny. Interestingly, they do not use it for Saudi Arabia, which maintains as perfect a system of gender apartheid as can be imagined -- women can't even drive, never mind vote -- or elsewhere in the Arab world, where Palestinians sometimes have fewer rights than they do in Israel.

A recent op-ed on Israel in the Financial Times employs the word apartheid several times. Some of the time it seems to be applied to the West Bank, but other times it is applied to Israel proper. Either way, this shoe doesn't fit. (Security concerns are not rooted in racism.) The author of the piece is Henry Siegman, a harsh critic of Israeli policies and a former executive director of the American Jewish Congress, so anti-Semitism is not the issue here -- just sound judgment. Sometimes impatience can lead to imprudence.

But anti-Semitism is not so easily dismissed with others. This is "Israeli Apartheid Week" on campuses across the world, and it is clear that what furiously animates many of the protesters are not legitimate grievances but imaginary ones. Israel is not above criticism and the Palestinians have their case, but when that case is constructed out of lies about the Jewish state, it not only represents a wholly unoriginal cover of some old anti-Semitic ditties but also denigrates the Palestinian cause. It does not need lies...

FYI, Richard, a Jew can be a Jew-hater; history, alas, is replete with them. Also, the "Palestinian cause," as you call it, aims to get rid of the Jewish state and replace it with an Arab one--which would be rather a tough sell without all the lies (what with there being 22--count 'em, 22--Arab lands, some of them vast, and all told comprising a vast population, and only one puny nation of a few million Jews). You could say the "lies" are all it has going for it. Hence all the "colonialist," "imperialist" crapola and the refusal to accept that the Jewish claim to this land goes waaay back, predating the daddy of Islam, even. They're lies that Lefists and Jihadists/Islamists spew so as to dress up their Zionhass and its eliminationist agenda in the fleece of "social justice."

Eliminationism="justice": the biggest lie of all.

For committed the heinous "crime" of appearing in public sans a male relative to act as chaperone, a Saudi chick is to be lashed by a whip 300 times.

Why are campuses that are so heavily invested in the radical feminist agenda so loath to acknowledge the brutal treatment of women in sharia-ridden lands? (That's a rhetorical query. I know exactly why they remain mum--because whatever the Third Word does is okey-dokey, and if it isn't, it's due entirely to the malign influence of Western imperialism.) If they weren't such huge hypocrites with an obvious animus toward the Jewish state, students and academics would be marking Saudi Male Chauvinism/Brutality to Women Week instead of their two week-long Zionhass fete.

The Saudi shyster who extracted an apology from Danish rag Politiken for printing a cartoon of some dude with a bomb in his bonnet isn't stopping there. He's demanding that lots more infidel rags display their dhimmi bona fides--or else:

(CNSNews.com) – After securing an apology from one Danish newspaper for publishing a cartoon satirizing Mohammed, a Saudi lawyer now plans to confront another 15 newspapers, filing lawsuits against them if necessary.

Faisal Yamani says he is acting on behalf of eight Muslim organizations representing “descendants of Mohammed.”

He told the Danish tabloid B.T. that he has 15 newspapers in his sights. His clients have made it clear they are ready to finance a campaign of lawsuits if the papers refuse to follow the example of the liberal daily Politiken and apologize. Yamani did not say how much he would aim to extract from the media organizations but referred to “a long and very expensive legal action.”

On Friday, Politiken published a formal apology to “anyone who was offended” by its decision to reproduce one of the 12 cartoons which triggered an international furor after another Danish paper, Jyllands-Posten, first published them in September 2005...

Descendents of Mohammed, eh? I think we'll require some DNA proof of that. Otherwise any old Mo Blow could claim to have the Prophet in his family tree.

As for the shyster who promises the long and costly lawfare, er, lawsuits--if he ever gets tired of working for the Wahhabis, he might have a bright future as a Canadian "human rights" official. He seems to have that shakedown thing down pat.

Tulip in Trouble

The guy who's been tapped to head Rights and Democracy has broken one of the biggest taboos in Canada: He has criticized the unfettered immigration of Muslims. That's a huge no-no here in the Dominion of Virtue, where we've been sold a bill of goods about how "diversity" is invariably a net good for society. Gerard Latulipe (or "the tulip," if you Anglicize it) argues (as quoted in the Globe and Mail) that "the concentration of immigrants in Montreal, as well as the 'geographic concentration of more and more immigrants from Muslim countries,' undermined 'the proper functioning of Quebec society.'"

What an awful thing to say, Mr. Tulip. Why, just because, say, a Jewish teacher is chased from her classroom by hateful, rowdy kids from Dar al Islam, it doesn't mean that Muslim newcomers from sharia-ridden lands pose any threat at all to Jews in particular or Canadians in general.

Understandably, some Muslim "rights" groups are up in arms (figuratively speaking, of course) about the flowerly utterances:

“In our opinion this promotes an unfounded fear of Muslims and of Muslim immigration in Canada,” said Ihsaan Gardee of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Canada.

“This is not consistent with the values of tolerance and acceptance enshrined in our Canadian Charter [of Rights and Freedoms] …

“Mr. Latulippe has a right to his opinion, but it's a whole other story when it's taxpayers' money going to someone whose values don't reflect what's in our Charter.”

Ah, yes, our ever-loving Charter. The be-all and end-all of Canadian "rights"--and about as likely to keep us free --and free from creeping sharia--as a box of Kleenex.

Me? I have no problem with Muslim immigration--so long as immigrants are sincere in renouncing this line: "Jihad is the way; sharia is the goal."

Update: Barbara Kay wrote the following about Charter-loving "human rights" activist Gardee and his outfit last year:

It is more than a little ironic that in this week's issue, Maclean's chose for a supposedly credible commentator on Islam and violence Ihsaan Gardee, executive director of the Council on Islamic-American Relations Canada (CAIR-Can). No, no, Barbara, you have it all wrong. CAIR-CAN says it's wholly independent from the American organization, and is not rooted in the tenets of the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR-CAN reveres our Charter, that Trudeaupian infidel document. And anyone who says otherwise is a raving "bigot" al la La Tulip (at least, that's what Gardee is hoping we'll think).
