You Know This One Ain't Gonna Fly

This is what happens when airport security is tempered  by political correctness, a tactic that inconveniences everyone and that amounts to little more than playacting at security--you go from no profiling (an under-reaction) to profiling every Muslim male between a certain age (an over-reaction). From the
A former United States General and a member of the Iran Policy Committee said on Saturday that he wants all Muslim men between 18-28 to be strip searched at airports.

Speaking on Fox News over the weekend, retired Lieutenant General with the United States Air Force and Fox News Military Analyst, Thomas McInerney, urged the US to strip search Muslim men between the ages of 18-28 because, says McInerney, one of these men will blow up an airplane in the coming days, according to the Raw Story. He elaborated on his comment by stating that there is a “danger of high probability” of a terrorist attack within the next 30 to 120 days.

“If you are an 18 to 28-year-old Muslim man then you should be strip searched. And if we don't do that there's a very high probability we're going to lose an airline,” and adding that all Muslims should be profiled, “We have to use profiling. And I mean be very serious and harsh about the profiling.”

However, according to Press TV, he doesn’t mean racial profiling, as he was asked if this would create more hatred and resentment within the Muslim world, “I want to profile on that group that we have enough evidence from 9/11, and other [high-profile] cases that we know what we are looking at.”

The former General’s comments come one day before the enhanced screening tactics at US airports that will focus on foreign travelers as they will be subjected to random screenings or “threat based” screenings...
Here's what's going to happen if every Muslim male in that age bracket is subjected to such a search: the jihadis will recruit men who are either too young or too old to be strip-searched, or they'll recruit women. And what then--strip search all Muslims?
No, it makes more sense to go the Israeli route, and "profile" the individual not the group, nor the passengers' paraphernalia (shoes, nail snippers, liquids, carry on luggage, etc.).
