In an interview with The Jerusalem Post on Thursday, J Street head Jeremy Ben Ami said the policies of the new Palestinian Fatah-Hamas government towards Israel should be tested before it is condemned.
The founder of the lobby group, which bills itself as a left-wing alternative to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the powerful Israeli lobby in Washington better known as AIPAC, said adopting a strategy that would avoid any “precipitous” policies may turn out to be beneficial for the peace process.
“Jumping out to say either this is a terrible thing or good thing is in our opinion not the wisest move, and the real question is what is this new alignment really going to stand for and what is it going to do, and that we don’t know,” he said. ”...Funny, that's not what Hillary Clinton thinks. She's adamant that it's going to be terrible, and says there's no way America will deal with the Palestinian government until such time as Hamas "reforms" (which in its own way is also delusional, but that's another story).
