STERLING, Virginia – Interweaving the teachings of Islam and everyday scouting activities, US Muslim children are increasingly joining Boy Scouts of America, seeing it a golden opportunity to practice their basic religious beliefs while following the scout law.
"The Islamic ideals and the scouting ideals are the same. They're compatible," Abdul Rashid Abdullah, scoutmaster of Troop 786, told CNN.
"I can easily talk about the scout law and talk about Qur’anic verses that co-relate to those scout laws, so it makes it really easy."...No doubt. At the end of the day, though, whose "law/ideals" do you suppose the scoutmaster is hoping will come out on top--the BSA's or Islam's?
As for the purported "compatibility"--I must have missed the news report about the Scouts signing up for child brides, stoning adulterers, forcing chicks into body bags, lording it over the infidel, and other niceities of "jihad is the way; sharia is the goal."

The minute Girl Guide Cookies are declared Halal my head will explode.
C'mon--I hear the shawarma snaps are deelish.
When it comes to Canada, this train has already left the station. Both my kids are in Scouts. A few months ago they had the Chief Scouts Awards ceremony - the most prestigious event in scouting, where my daughter was among those receiving awards. The event began with a bagpiper led march past followed by the national anthem. We were then asked to continue standing while a muslim scout proceeded to sing from the Quran - in Arabic followed by English. I'd wager that 99.9% of people in the room were not Muslim. A couple of years prior when my son received his award, a muslim prayer was also chosen to open the special breakfast ceremony they hold at the Royal York. Note, no other prayers other than the Islamic ones are used. I raised this with Scouts Canada but was effectively told to Eff off since this was done in the name of 'cultural sensitivity'. Do you know there is even a Muslim scouts group in Toronto who has removed the pledge of allegiance to the Queen from the Scouts oath - I contacted them and they told me this was due to their religious beliefs - they cannot be loyal to anyone other than Allah. Scouts Canada also thought this to be perfectly acceptable as well.
