[Peter] Shurman, a former radio talk show host and vocal advocate for Thornhill’s large Jewish community, will have his hands full with Liberal candidate Bernie Farber, who is the former CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress.

“I’m a known commodity,” Farber told Vaughan Today in June. “I’ve spent a lot of time working on behalf of the residents of Thornhill to make this a better community.”

"A known commodity," eh? As if that's a selling point. Guess old Bernie hasn't heard that familiarity can (and often does) breed contempt.
