Canadian Foreign Policy Rag EMBASSY Sympathizes With Plight of Iranian Canadians
Oh, how happy the lefty diplomatic corps would be if only the Canadian government were, well, Liberal. Instead, it's Tory, and now, according to an Embassy sob sister, Iranian Canadians are "upset and scared" because the Harper government has kicked out its landsmen. (Just for fun, I've bolded some of the article's more overwrought phraseology):
Canada has suddenly and dramatically pulled its diplomats out of Tehran,
is listing Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism, and is kicking out all
remaining Iranian diplomats in Canada.
Speaking from the APEC summit in Russia on Sept. 7, Foreign Minister John
Baird announced that the Canadian Embassy in Iran has been closed, and that all
remaining Iranian diplomats have five days to leave Canada.
The Iranian
Embassy in Ottawa was closed soon after the announcement was made, with signs
being posted on the front doors within half an hour. That led to a small crowd
of individuals gathering outside the embassy doors who had come for consular
services and were unsure what to do.
Several told Embassy they
were concerned about their next steps, and several said they had family in Iran
on their mind. One man expressed anger at the two governments that they couldn’t
come to terms.
Calls and emails to the Iranian Embassy were not returned
before press time. A statement from the Israeli Embassy praised "Prime Minister
Harper’s leadership."...
The clear implication being that the two governments "couldn't come to terms" because of Jew-know-who.
