While I agree that Beverly Hills is one of the world's great Botox concentration zones, I think the quake is more likely to have been caused by the shock wave emanating from the implosion of California's civic culture. (Read any Victor Hanson lately?)

You may be right. The state's finances are pretty shaky, too. And re VDH, I posted something by him just the other day.
