Bizarre Statement: "I'd Like My Son to Be Inspired By Philip Seymour Hoffman"

I liked Hoffman, too. I thought he was a terrific actor, and was always delighted to see him up there on the big screen. I liked that he was large and shambolic. That didn't look like what you think actors should look like. That he looked like someone I went to High School with, or someone who was a counselor one year at summer camp. But would I want my son to "be inspired" by him? A man who did not appear to be comfortable in his own skin? Who, despite the fame and adulation, often hated what he did? An addict who died alone, with a needle in his arm?

That's bonkers.
