Standing Up For Womens' 'Rights' in the Decadent West

What sort of misogyny drives chicks in our parts wild?

FGM? "Honour" killings? Gals forced to perambulate in black body bags?

Don't be silly. Such things can be see as part of our colourful multiculti tapesty, and are therefore safe to ignore.

No, "rights"-minded gals around here get their thongs in a twist over--wait for it--the right to strip down to their frilly unmentionable at a festival where the suds are flowing freely. Here's the Ceeb cheering on a chick who claims her "rights" were violated when, oh, the indignity, she was told to put her top back on at the Beer Fest:
...Martin said the people who told her to cover up were looking at the problem the wrong way.
"Deal with the guys if there is a problem," she said, "but don't come over and pre-emptively tell me that I'm going to start a problem."
"This is the reason we have events like SlutWalk now — to bring attention to the fact that we're not just sexual beings, we're just out having a good time."
Martin's not sure why she got so much attention at the beer fest. The security team apologized and she's had lots of support, even from her parents.
"I actually think they'll be very proud of me for standing up for my rights — and it is an issue of rights for women to be able to do this without being sexualized," Martin said.
I don't think women should have to wear burqas to safeguard them from unwanted male attention. But, really, that isn't about "modesty". That's about controlling society by, first and foremost, controlling chicks. As for taking off your top in a crowd of drunken males and expected not to be "sexualized"--not only is that not a "right" and, in fact, a mockery of genuine rights, it's just plain stupid, sweetie.

I agree - seriously stupid, sweetie. But, for the record, I think men should be forced to cover up as well. There are far too many seriously unappetizing hairy bellies perambulating out there under the oblivious faces of males who obviously think such a display is both manly and attractive. Where is my right to be spared this?
