People who think the Khomeinists are indeed too kooky to merit refutation should remember that many people felt the same way about Herr Hitler circa 1933-36, and even later. For many educated, thinking people outside Mitteleuropa, he was just too silly to take seriously, with his Charlie Chaplin mustache and Opera Buffa histrionics. 72 million deaths later . . . he wasn't so funny after all.
