‘Faith and Terrorism are an Oxymoron, They Do not Exist Together’

So says Dr. Munir El-Kassem, imam of the London, Ontario mosque. The imam was responding to reports that two homegrown lads, Xristos Katsiroubas and Ali Medlej, had been killed while taking part in a terrorist operation in Algeria.

But the imam's grasp of figures of speech is, to say the least, a bit shaky. "Jumbo shrimp" is an oxymoron--words put together that mean their opposite. Faith--and, more specifically Islam--and terrorism aren't oxymorons; they are more or less synonymous.

How can we expect the radicalization to end when "mainstream" Muslim religious leaders refuse to acknowledge that reality?

Update: Here's an article in which the London imam criticizes the criticism of the Taliban's destruction of those Buddhist statues.

Update: The "moderate" imam is also a big fan of loony Louie Farrakhan.

A few, um, jumbo shrimp try out some terrorist manoeveurs.
