Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell has received a diversity award two times in one week. She was presented with the 2013 Leadership in Diversity Award and with a 2013 Diversity Award for Public Service from Diversity Magazine. Fennell shared the public service award with 11 other recipients:  Albert Lo, chair, Canadian Race Relations Foundation, Dr. Mamdouh Shoukri, president/vice chancellor, York University, Slava Levin, CEO, Ethnic Channels Group, Kay Blair, executive director, MicroSkills, Arun Srivastava, CEO, Paystation Inc., Rotary Club of Richmond Hill, Douglas Cardinal, architect, Canadian Museum of Civilization, Thomas Saras, president, National Ethnic Press & Media Council of Canada, Karim Hakimi, president,Hakim Optical, Denise Herrera Jackson, CEO, Scotiabank, Caribbean Festival, and Dan Hill, singer/songwriter.
