Iran and the P5+1 were close to an interim deal in Geneva when French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius threw his spanner in the works and stopped everything in its tracks.

Fabius, the son of Jewish immigrants and a hardcore Zionist (although he claims to have converted to Catholicism), acted as spoiler at the specific instructions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu has been crying wolf ever since talks between Iran and the P5+1 started last month.

During the latest round of talks, he called US President Barack Obama on Friday to not make a deal when it became clear the sides were close to one. He also tried to persuade British Prime Minister David Cameron and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He got nowhere, not even with Obama, who has developed deep contempt for the pushy Zionist but is unable to say anything in public.

Why did the French sabotage the deal to oblige the Zionists when agreement between the six powers had already been reached? French President Francois Hollande is due to visit the Zionist state later this month. He wants to avoid any public spat with the abrasive Zionist...
