Haaretz Asks: "Why Does the U.S. Shun Cuba, But Not Israel?"

Let's ponder that one for a nanosecond, shall we? Off the top of my head, it's because:
  • Since 1959, Cuba has been in the grip of a Communist strongman who despises the U.S. and all it stands for;
  • Israel is a democracy--the Middle East's only one--and, Barack Obama and his ilk notwithstanding, is supported by most Americans and is the U.S.'s only genuine real friend in a dark, dysfunctional region.
Those who write for and adore as-left-as-it-gets Haaretz (I call them the 'Retzfinks) would obviously prefer if the reserve were true--if the U.S. shunned Israel, but not Cuba. Get thee all to Havana, I say! (BTW, can you imagine how fabulous Cuba would be if Israelis were running the joint instead of those ghastly Castros?)
