'Lillian' Obama's Lily-Livered Lies

Roger Kimball observes a striking similarity between the current POTUS and a dead Marxist chick playwright:
First of all, Islam has not “been woven into the fabric of our country since its founding,” as Obama said yesterday in his speech about combatting terrorism. Indeed, like most of his public pronouncements, the speech was a Lillian Hellman performance as described by Mary McCarthy: every word including “and” and “but” was a lie.
Hellman, famously, launched a libel action against McCarthy for making that claim (on The Dick Cavett Show), a suit that dragged on for a while and ended only when Lillian croaked. Presumably, Obama would never sue Kimball, not only because of "fair comment," but because, well, Obama's fibbing is obvious and prodigious.
