How do we know she's Islamist? Well, aside from wanting to cover her face Wahhabi-style, her Facebook page lists her employers: ICNA Canada and MCNA Canada (an ICNA offshoot).
Want to know more about ICNA? In brief, it's a delightfully wacky Jew-hating organization that's dedicated to conducting stealth (and not-so-stealthy) jihad in the West (my bolds):
Terrorism analyst Steven Emerson claims that ICNA has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, the ideological forebear of all radical Islamic movements -- including Hamas and al-Qaeda. Documents show that Hamas officials have participated in previous ICNA events. "The ICNA's hatred of the Jews is so fierce," writes Emerson, "that it taunted them with a repetition of what Hitler did to them." In his book American Jihad, Emerson expounds: "The ICNA openly supports militant Islamic fundamentalist organizations, praises terror attacks, issues incendiary attacks on western values and policies, and supports the imposition of Sharia [Islamic law]."
ICNA was named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document -- titled "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America" -- as one of the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded "organizations of our friends" that shared the common goal of destroying America and turning it into a Muslim nation. These "friends" were identified by the Brotherhood as groups that could help teach Muslims "that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands ... so that ... God's religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions."I'd say that, since Ishaq managed to change Canadian law such that chicks can now cover up like an old time bank robber when becoming citizens, that sabotaging-from-within stuff is definitely working.
One quibble with Fatah: He claims that the niqab has nothing to do with Islam, yet the headline on his website reads, "How one Islamist used White Guilt to enshrine Sharia In Canada." If wearing the niqab is enshrining sharia, and sharia is Islamic law, then isn't the niqab ipso facto part of Islam? Let's go back to the source material, shall we, and see what it has to say on the matter
These seems to be an awful lot of veiling going on there, as anyone (and surely even Mr. Fatah) can see.
The Qur'an: Quran (33:59) - "Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them..."Quran (24:31) - "And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known." The woman is not only supposed to cover herself, except with relatives, but to look down, so as to avoid making eye-contact with men.Qur'an (33:55) - "It shall be no crime in them as to their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their woman, or the slaves which their right hands possess, if they speak to them unveiled" A woman is only allowed to present herself unveiled to family and slaves.
From the Hadith:Bukhari (6:321) - Muhammad is asked whether it is right for a young woman to leave her house without a veil. He replies, "She should cover herself with the veil of her companion."Bukhari (60:282) - After Muhammad issued the command (Qur'an 24:31) for women to cover themselves, the women responded by tearing up sheets to cover their faces.Abu Dawud (32:4092) - The Apostle of Allah... said: "O Asma', when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it does not suit her that she displays her parts of body except this and this, and he pointed to her face and hands" This was according to Aisha.Abu Dawud (2:641) - The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who has reached puberty unless she wears a veil.
Update: BCF has more.
