I wouldn't have thought so (the 800-year-old Magna Carta being the seminal, foundational document which enabled the West to become that rarity in human history: a domain of freedom, democracy and human rights; "the Arab Spring," conversely, being largely a chimera, a mirage, purveyed by infidel journalists--are your ears burning, TLF?--who knew very little about Islam, the Cairo Declaration, and the enduring siren call of jihad as exemplified by those now fighting for/with ISIS). But according to the "Timeline" (you can download it here) on the website of the Magna Carta exhibit at Toronto's Fort York (where an actual copy of the Magna Carta is on display), the latter follows in a direct line from the former.
That's rather a stretch, don't you think?
