For those not of the tribe, that phrase (in Hebrew: gmar chatimah tova) is what we say to each other in the immediate lead-up to the Day of Atonement (because that's the day when your fate for the next year is "sealed" in the Book of Life).
Another thing we say is "have an easy fast"--even though, trust me, it's never easy.
And on that note, I am now signing off until after the holiday.
