The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC), the City of Kingston and the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Queen’s University invite you to join them on February 17 for “Human rights from A – Z: A municipal update on anti-racism, data collection, licensing and zoning”. This free one-day training event features a media launch and plenary session on OHRC’s new book, “In the zone: Housing, human rights and municipal planning”, an afternoon plenary on human rights and rental housing licensing, and workshops on collecting human rights-based data, anti-racism and organizational change, anti-racism and anti-discrimination for municipalities, and special programs. The event will also provide an opportunity to learn more about what the City of Kingston and the OHRC are doing to make communities where everyone is welcome and included as well as space to network and share your own ideas for advancing human rights in your municipality. Luncheon and refreshments will be provided. That's most generous. Wouldn't it be great if the folks covering the Kingston "honour" crimes trial could avail themselves of the offer and share their knowledge re discrimination and "human rights" as Ma and Pa Shafia understand them?
