One Hater Down, Many More Millions To Go

Apparently Stewart Bell's article in the National Post about the return of Salman Hossain, genocide-promoter, shone too much of a spotlight for York U. authorities to ignore. (Hossain, who's originally from Bangladesh, had been, er, studying at the University of Toronto when his website first came to light, but while he was there no one at the university or in law enforcement wanted to deal with speech that, in content and tone, fit the province's definition of "hate speech"; no doubt they were hoping it would all go away). Today Bell is reporting that Hossain has been suspended and will shortly have to account for his hatefulness before a York U. "disciplinary panel."

Despite the fact that, as yet, no charges have been laid (police are said to be still "investigating") York's actions come as a great relief to some Jews:

Canadian Jewish Congress CEO Bernie Farber said the Jewish community was "now breathing a sigh of relief" knowing that Mr. Hossain was suspended. "York has done the right thing."
As if the "Jewish community" breathes as one. In fact, some members of the "community"--me for example--see Hossain's hatefulness as a mere drop in a hateful ocean, and are thus still waiting to exhale. We know that silencing one hater (if that, indeed, comes to pass, something about which I have serious doubts) does not even begin to tackle the hatefulness in Islamic holy texts, ones which animate much of the Muslim world's pervasive Judenhass/Zionhass. Me? I hope to keep breathing, but I'll take no comfort from Hossain's suspension knowing as I do that this stuff can be found in the Koran, which Muslims, including Hossain, revere as sheer perfection:

Ignominy shall be their portion [the Jews'] wheresoever they are found... They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them... because they disbelieve the revelations of Allah and slew the Prophets wrongfully... because they were rebellious and used to transgress.3
And thou wilt find them [the Jews] the greediest of mankind....4

Evil is that for which they sell their souls... For disbelievers is a terrible doom.5

Taste ye [Jews] the punishment of burning.6

Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment.7

Because of the wrongdoing of the Jews.... And of their taking usury ... and of their devouring people's wealth by false pretenses. We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful doom.8

Allah hath cursed them [the Jews] for their disbelief.9

They [the Jews] will spare no pains to corrupt you. They desire nothing but your ruin. Their hatred is clear from what they say, but more violent is the hatred which their breasts conceal.10

In truth the disbelievers are an open enemy to you.11

And thou seest [Jews and Christians] vying one with another in sin and transgression and their devouring of illicit gain. Verily evil is what they do. Why do not the rabbis and the priests forbid their evilspeaking and their devouring of illicit gain? .... evil is their handiwork.12

O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and Christians for friends.13

The most vehement of mankind in hostility [are] the Jews and the idolators.14

Fight against such of those [Jews and Christians] ... until they pay for the tribute readily, being brought low.15

Allah fighteth against them [the Jews]. How perverse they are!16

Believers, many are the rabbis and the monks who defraud men of their possessions... Proclaim a woeful punishment to those that hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah's cause.... their treasures shall be heated in the fire of Hell.... 17

They [the Jews] spread evil in the land .... 18

[The Jews] knowingly perverted [the word of Allah], know of nothing except lies ... commit evil and become engrossed in sin.19
All of the above--along with that "pigs and monkeys" palaver--is what ordinary, mainstream Muslims hold to be true. Can anyone seriously believe that censoring the speech of one insignificant pipsqueak is going to put the kibosh on Koran/Hadith-inspired Jew-hate and ongoing efforts to eliminate the Jewish State?

You view this so simply. Its not a matter of this one ignorant hater. Its a matter that he called for the mass murder of jews on the internet. Many potential thousands can read it and as you know Scaramouch it takes only one Islamic extremist to act. So your blind dislike of Farber blinds you as well to the real dangers here.

I beg to differ. The folks who think that "hate speech" inevitably leads to genocide"--the justification for state censorship and the subversion of free speech, the basis of a free society--are the simplifiers. As for my "blind dislike" of the gent in question--I find him quite personable, in fact. What I object to is his championship of censorship and his blind allegiance to all the squishy multiculti crap. Oh, and I don't think too highly of the guys (Warman, Kinsella) he thinks are doing us Jews such a great service.

I see sporangia's point regarding the many who can view this moron's call for murdering Jews. It is a real issue.

As for your supposed issue with Farber, on this one I think most would agree with him that advocating genocide goes well beyond hate speech. Haven't seen Farber say any more than that on this particular matter.

Without a doubt, the Koran is "hate speech". WHY IS THE KORAN NOT ON TRIAL FOR HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS!
Bernie (or somebody else who actually has balls) should take this up with the HRC just to see how it would play out. But clearly, it is HATE SPEECH and is widely distributed so there should be no reason why it wouldn't be subject to the same logic HRC's apply to the rest of their case loads.
