The Entity Isn't Over Until the Fat Chazan Sings

New Israel Fund founder Naomi Chazan breezed through town the other day--to a decidely mixed reception. The CJN unpacks her talk here. Perhaps without intending to, one of her local supporters explains why no one should give the well-meaning but clueless Chazan and her dangerously utopian/Goldstone-abetting outfit so much as the time of day:

Rabbi Eva Goldfinger of the Oraynu Congregation for Humanistic Judaism said in an interview after the talk that she has been supporting the NIF since its conception. She said she supports about 80 per cent of its views, disagreeing mostly with its granting funds to what she called violent Palestinian groups.
See, if 80 per cent of what you do is swell and the remainder is sh*t, the sh*t is going to pollute the rest. Just look at Hezbo (a.k.a. the "New Lebanon Fund"?). It does yeoman's work on social improvements--building schools and hospitals, etc.--but so what? Its raison d'etre is Israel's destruction--same as the "violent Palestinian groups" the NIF supports.
