And You Thought That Annoying Twisty Bulb Was Pricey

A $60 light bulb is going on sale today--Earth Day--in the U.S. The bulb, made by Dutch giant Phillips, is supposed to last for 100,000 hours or 20 years (whichever comes first).

Rather ironic, given that the U.S. economy is set to shut down completely years before that. (Ironic because, by 2027, Americans who invested in the bulb in 2012 may still have a functioning light source, but nothing with which to power it.)
