Could it be that Air France knows exactly who its customer base is, acts accordingly, and would never have thought to include Israel on its map had the, er, omission not been flagged and elicited comment/condemnation on Twitter?

Air France "Deeply Regrets" Omitting Israel From In-Flight Map
The airline claims the omission was due to "map scale and display problems" which are "currently being resolved." Oddly enough, however, these difficulties did not result in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, the West Bank and even the teensy-weensy Gaza Strip being left off the map.
