Mayor Ford was a sort of Canadian proto-Trump. He showed that, following the doctrine that the best defense is a good offense, one could reverse roles and force the purveyors of political correctness and multiculturalism into a defensive cringe. Too bad not enough conservative politicians, north and south of the 49th parallel, heeded his example.

Ford was a decent enough guy but, sadly, devolved into a hot mess. And he had nowhere near the ego of Trump (also nowhere near the hair).
