The Tablet piece's rationale (if you can call it that): most Brandeis students don't even know who he is. Apparently, neither does Tablet, since it fails to mention that, along with having once been the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Pickering was also put in charge of the Obama administration's Benghazi probe and "has ties to the pro-Iran Islamist front group known as the National Iranian American Council (NIAC)."
So in the hallowed halls of Brandeis,Thomas Pickering, an associate of Jewry's biggest enemy du jour, is A-OK while Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who dares to speak the truth about the jihad, is strictly verboten.
Way to go, Brandeis! When it comes to cluelessness and spinelessness, it's clear that your august institution is cream of the crop and top of the heap.
